Erg enjoyable visit, good food, good service. It was a welcome break from the people congestion in the excel. Glad I booked a table. Will use again when I'm at the excel centre

We ordered some sandwiches and a salad, wanted something quick

The restaurant is one of many in the food hall at the ExCel Centre and as such you wouldn't choose to go there unless you had a reason for being at the ExCel. There is nothing imaginative about the layout and the only reason I booked there was in order to avoid queueing for fast food. I took a meat-loving grandson and he ordered the expensive (£20) bavette steak. What he was given was a small, overdone, tasteless and tough piece of shoe leather. In fairness to the restaurant, the pleasant Manager immediately removed the item from my bill without a murmur when I complained, but my grandson had to survive on his plate of chips. I chose a not very exciting Cobb salad with bottled blue cheese dressing and my other grandchild had a burger, which she said was fine. We drank bottled water and a Diet Coke. My original bill was for £50+ and to my mind represented the worst value for money that I have experienced in a long time. The only positive thing I can say is that the service was efficient.

Upstairs area hot and very noisy. Menu was simple yet only seemed to have burgers and no salads at all. Plates unimpressive for the $$$$ and service close to nonexistent. They shut down as we sat there trying to eat and talk. Won't be back. Center in dire need of something better !

This was terrible. It took over an hour to get food and there were a string of visitors trying to get the manager to sort out the situation. The system had some problem and the manager was then storming around with bits of paper failing to sort out anything. When our food did arrive we only got 4 out of 5 mains, no sides and no desire to sort it out. The manager did not apologise and several times was getting at his staff about the problems - they were clearly all very stressed and he was not helping. The food itself was over prices, but fine.
Next time I am going outside Excel and getting somewhere interested in customer service and good manners.

At the time of the meal, the staff were very polite and welcoming. Our breakfast was served in a reasonable time. However our day at Excel had to be curtailed, as my wife experienced 'digestive problems' as a result of eating this meal. (We will spare you the unpleasant details). As a health care professional she has been unable to return to duty, as a result of this issue.
Needless to say, we will not be revisiting The Bridge, as we were disappointed that this had spoiled an otherwise enjoyable day.

The bridge restaurant is a refreshingly peaceful pit stop in the Excel, if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of an exhibition for an hour, have a comfy seat and enjoy some fresh food. I had the salmon salad which was very nice, the salmon was cooked perfectly and it was a hearty salad. My mother had the advocacy and bacon salad which she thoroughly enjoyed and which did look delicious.

The service was fairly quick, which is good when you have an exhibition to get back too, however the only distracting thing was that there were so many staff...and so few customers, leaving the staff to mill around the bar area chatting. This was fine although at times distracting from our meal. It seemed as though it must gave been an overly quiet lunch service which led to this. However our server was great, friendly and attentative.

We enjoyed our meal at the bridge and would definately visit again when at the excel.

Our overall experience here was not good. The waiter did not know anything about the menu and had to keep asking other staff if things were available- for example my friend asked for an earl grey tea (which you would assume he would know about but he didn't).
I ordered the blueberry pancakes and then later was told they weren't available as there was no blueberries? But they offered a berry pancakes instead. I then asked if it came with fresh fruit to which I was told yes, well it didn't. It was pancakes with jam on top. My three friends orders eggs which the menu stated came with an English muffin. They were then told there was no English muffin. Also we had to chase up milk we had ordered to go with tea because the waitstaff forgot about it. The restaurant was very quiet with only one other table occupied, so no excuses really. Not enjoyable.

Happy with the lunch experience - pleasant, calm surroundings above main crowd at the Move It dance exhibition, efficient service and good food.
