Defined by its relaxed, informal setting, The Brasserie at The Cumberland serves a menu of European classics with a distinctly British twist. Effortlessly chic, the dazzling back-lit bar is the focal point of the main dining room.

Crafted with award-winning expertise, the Brasserie menu foregrounds classic flavours with exciting modern flourishes. Sophisticated options include pan-fried haddock fillet on a poached potato with a cockle, leek and parsley casserole, and a succulent shallow-fried fillet of chicken Holstein topped with fried organic hen’s egg and served with anchovies, capers, shallots, parsley and nut brown butter. Delightfully indulgent options extend through to the dessert menu at The Brasserie restaurant in London, featuring a chocolate and hazelnut pudding with hazelnut ice cream and a warm chocolate sauce.

Brasserie afternoon tea combines delicate sandwiches, scones and cakes with exquisite Higgins Tea, while a sumptuous Sunday carvery menu offers a 3-course weekend treat. For a sophisticated drinks setting, look no further than The Brasserie’s Momentus Bar, a sultry yet elegant bar space lit by atmospheric purple lighting.

Within the luxury of The Cumberland Hotel, family-friendly dining is offered at The Brasserie in Mayfair. Marble Arch Tube Station sits a 2-minute walk away.

This was our first afternoontea and we had been looking forward to it for weeks. We were very satisfied. Quiet and relaxing. Food was delicious and service excellent.

Service was unobtrusive, polite and friendly. Portion size generous. We had the terrine which was delicious to start, followed by lamb cooked as I asked medium rare, more on the rare side with rich tasty dophinoise potatoes. The vegetable were crunchy and fresh. Berry cheesecake pudding was also a delight. The atmosphere was romantic and the decor modern and luxurious. An extremely lovely evening, one to remember.

The restaurant was very quiet when we visited on the 27th December. The service was attentive and the food plentiful with two full size scones per person however the sandwiches were a bit cold and would have been better served at room temperature and some cakes did not taste fresh. The teapots were very nice and we were offered a timer to decide how long to brew our tea for which was useful and a nice touch.

Not much variety with the cake selection, when asked for another pot of tea we only got more hot water, do not expect this from a London Hotel, very poor, also very cold in the area where we sat

    Lovely REAL English afternoon tea.
Great sandwiches and pastries, with amazing scones, all served with a class of champagne
The tea is very special - T2.

Service was a little slow which was surprising as the restaurant didn't seem overly busy. Afternoon tea was fine although, personally, would have preferred a few more sandwiches in place of the numerous cakes.

Dire service, mediocre meal, give it a miss. We had to seat ourselves after waiting 10 minutes and no one came to seat us. We waited 50 minutes for our main course and the restaurant was far from busy. I shall not be returning.
