A true fine dining gem, The Botanist Sloane Square specialises in exquisite British cuisine with touches of global eclecticism. Under shimmering chandeliers, enticing bespoke cocktails are showcased in the sophisticated Botanist bar, alongside a classy wine and champagne list.

The Botanist restaurant brings Sloane Square to life, with a gallery of vibrant hand painted illustrations of naturalist Sloane’s Caribbean explorations. Culinary innovations feature on The Botanist menu with options like sautéed lamb sweetbreads with dandelion and pea tendril salad or indulgent native Scottish lobster risotto with crisp squid and seared king scallop.

Sweet decadences from The Botanist dessert list include rich chocolate fondant with raspberry ripple sherbet ice cream or gooseberry and vanilla baked cheesecake with spiced peach syrup. As well as breakfast and brunch, traditional afternoon tea is a true indulgence at The Botanist London, with a champagne option also available.

We had a lovely early breakfast on a Sunday morning. Great food, super polite staff and chilled atmosphere in general.

Very pleasant and helpful staff, with excellent service. My companion and I stayed for more that the allotted two hours; but, because the restaurant was not too busy, the staff were more than happy that we should do so.

Lunch pre-proms.. Globe artichoke for me, goat curd salad for Mrs J. followed by kennet crayfish and chilli linguine for me and sea bass for Mrs J. All very nicely done, friendly, attentive service, nice fresh bread and no problem sir if you just want tap water, good coffee. great place, we'll be back. Oh, and on the walls nice victorian style prints of technical drawings of plants but also animals. The Gents loo has the snake on the door...

Delicious food and good wine list with some great wine makers listed. My beetroot and goats curd starter was a work of art, my main of grilled salmon, Jersey Royals and monks beard was incredibly fresh and delicious but had a hefty price tag and my trio of sorbets was really fruity, fresh and tangy - the peach was especially tasty. The service was helpful and friendly but a little slow and although at 8pm I was able to talk to my dinner companion, by 10pm it was so noisy I could barely hear what she was saying and we were shouting across the table. Nevertheless I recommend the restaurant for a fun night out with friends but would avoid it if I wanted a romantic evening with my husband.

Sunday lunch had good roasts on offer. I was disappointed at the wines I was told were unavailable after I had ordered them, and then given the standard London restaurant "we're updating our wine list" when they have no intention of doing so. I expected more from them.

We invited some friends to the Botanist. It was our first experience there, we were a group of six. Food was excellent with good selections but very small portions and not as advertised! Wine list was amazing. Service was superb. Unfortunately It was poor value for money. The good news my friends enjoyed the meal to the max! The bad news I was still a bit hungry when I left needing more supplements at home. It is highly recommended but the portions have to be made bigger!

The Botanist is the "default option" for a meal before going on to the Cadogan Hall. Food and wine are very satisfactory, if slightly expensive by my standards, and the only disadvantage is the terrible racket from the bar. I would strongly urge a sound-proof screen between the bar and the dining area.
