The Botanist restaurant brings Sloane Square to life, with a gallery of vibrant hand painted illustrations of naturalist Sloane’s Caribbean explorations. Culinary innovations feature on The Botanist menu with options like sautéed lamb sweetbreads with dandelion and pea tendril salad or indulgent native Scottish lobster risotto with crisp squid and seared king scallop.

Sweet decadences from The Botanist dessert list include rich chocolate fondant with raspberry ripple sherbet ice cream or gooseberry and vanilla baked cheesecake with spiced peach syrup. As well as breakfast and brunch, traditional afternoon tea is a true indulgence at The Botanist London, with a champagne option also available.

Food a little expensive compared to quality.
Restaurant very noisy, we had trouble hearing us.
    Service a little long.

Excellent pre-show menu served very efficiently by a friendly team. The schnitzel was particularly good. Great location if you are going to Cadogan Hall or the Royal Court.

Light and airy restaurant in great location on Sloane Square, spoilt by poor service (slow and somewhat inattentive) and mixed quality food. Some dishes were great (fish in particular), others not (pork medalions more like fat medalions). Food was otherwise well presented and ambience overall pleasant.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Botanist. First impressions were concerning since there was big crowd of drinkers surrounding the place - an overspill from the bar, which is as big as the restaurant. But everything in the restaurant was excellent. The service was friendly and very good. The menu had plenty of great options and the food we ordered - whitebait, smoked salmon, lamb rump, dover sole, cheese board - was excellent.

We had a lovely early breakfast on a Sunday morning. Great food, super polite staff and chilled atmosphere in general.

Very pleasant and helpful staff, with excellent service. My companion and I stayed for more that the allotted two hours; but, because the restaurant was not too busy, the staff were more than happy that we should do so.

Lunch pre-proms.. Globe artichoke for me, goat curd salad for Mrs J. followed by kennet crayfish and chilli linguine for me and sea bass for Mrs J. All very nicely done, friendly, attentive service, nice fresh bread and no problem sir if you just want tap water, good coffee. great place, we'll be back. Oh, and on the walls nice victorian style prints of technical drawings of plants but also animals. The Gents loo has the snake on the door...
