Recommended in The Michelin Guide for a 6th straight year, The Boot Room is an independent Leicester restaurant inside a beautifully converted shoe factory, filled with original features and with a modern British menu.
The Boot Room menu uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients for its modern takes on wholesome British recipes. Seared pigeon breast with roasted artichoke and raspberry vinaigrette is a popular starter, while hearty mains include 8-hour braised lamb shank with minted butterbean and vegetable cassoulet. There are fresh seafood delicacies like roasted salmon fillet with prawns and lobster bisque and fondant potato, and a grill selection of succulent steaks.
To finish, desserts at The Boot Room Leicester feature specialities like soufflé of the day, and rich indulgences like chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce. There is a superb wine selection, as well as fine champagnes.
Also offering dedicated gluten-free menus, The Boot Room is a wonderfully versatile eatery, and sits 12 minutes' walk from Leicester Train Station.

personally not very impressed. Ordered breads and balsamic oil the bread had been microwaved and very stodgy.
Mains arrived and breads still on table, service not great.
Ordered beef medallions I got the smallest 3 medallions it was ridiculous considering the dish was £23. The best part of the night was the salad.
The free glass of wine was cheap and nasty.
Not the best experience will not be re visiting. over priced for what you actually get. Owners need to go to the case, jons in mountsorrel to get ideas of service, foods and good wines.

A group of 8 of us went to the Bootroom for the pie night. There was a choice of four different pies which we all tried. The meal was very tasty and good value although the food could have been hotter. The patron was very welcoming and we were well looked after.
It's a great shame though that at the moment there are extensive roadworks right outside the restaurant which are affecting the business.

unfortunately this was a very very disappointing experience. We had not been back to the Boot room for some time, although our previous experience had been a wonderful one. this time however was the complete opposite. The reception area, by the bar, had no atmosphere whatsoever, and not conducive to happy pre-dinner drinks. The restaurant area in itself is not effectively lit, and our table by the side of a wall had a very harsh downlight to its side, whilst the overall decor, although simple, is not of the quality of finish you would expect from a restaurant of that price range.
But we would not have minded all this if we had been able to enjoy great food, which, unfortunately, completely let down the whole experience. I ordered a rib-eye stack, to be rare, and this came as medium rare, i was not offered a steak knife, so had to battle it with a standard knife. The dauphinoise potatoes were heavy and with little seasoning. my wife's risotto was even worse and so bland and tasteless that she did not eat much of it.
In fairness the manager offered to get both meals redone for us, but by then , we were so disappointed that we could not face waiting another 20mns to get a replacement dish. They also waived the risotto price of our bill which was fair.
The serving staff were lovely and helpful, and this is the only positive aspect of our experience at the Boot Room.
I am afraid that we certainly will not go back there for quite some time, and can only hope that our comments will help the management to focus on the areas that desperately need to be address to justify the high price of the dishes and offer an experience to match.

Considering this restaurant comes up as one of the best in Leicester when you google I was a little disappointed. The food and the decor were just ok.

We booked this restaurant by chance on a day trip to Leicester and loved it. The atmosphere was great and we all had a fun time - excellent food and good sized portions, lovely, friendly staff, good choice of music and interesting rooms.

It was our first visit to The Boot Room and it was really nice, food was fantastic and service matched it. The T bone stake was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back again.

The ambience was superb with a Saxophinist playing on the night we visited. We ordered a range of dishes, all delicious and presented beautifully. The waiters were attentive and we will definitely be back!
