Recommended in The Michelin Guide for a 6th straight year, The Boot Room is an independent Leicester restaurant inside a beautifully converted shoe factory, filled with original features and with a modern British menu.
The Boot Room menu uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients for its modern takes on wholesome British recipes. Seared pigeon breast with roasted artichoke and raspberry vinaigrette is a popular starter, while hearty mains include 8-hour braised lamb shank with minted butterbean and vegetable cassoulet. There are fresh seafood delicacies like roasted salmon fillet with prawns and lobster bisque and fondant potato, and a grill selection of succulent steaks.
To finish, desserts at The Boot Room Leicester feature specialities like soufflé of the day, and rich indulgences like chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce. There is a superb wine selection, as well as fine champagnes.
Also offering dedicated gluten-free menus, The Boot Room is a wonderfully versatile eatery, and sits 12 minutes' walk from Leicester Train Station.

Nice relaxed surroundings with live music but unfortunately the guy playing the saxophone only played sporadically so not a great impression.

The overall experience was a little disappointing. There were no other diners - so no atmosphere. Certain drinks were unavailable - tomato juice, pineapple juice etc
Food was ok, but salmon was overcooked.

We had a great dining experience. For a Saturday evening it was very quiet however it was bonfire night and i am guessing a lot of people were out watching fireworks.

The young waitress was very good and helpful so no blame apportioned to Her slow service food expensive for what it was reasonable food but not the standard we were expecting far better at La vid a or Pierre bistro in Leicester .the boot room it self is fine but they need to work harder on the customer service we attended on sat 30 food average but no finesse .Dissapointed with a restaurant mentioned in Michelin guide only 2 starters 1 olives 1 bread with balsamic and olive oil mains 1 rump 1 lamb shank 1 scallops small ones 1 sea bass chips or mash but no veg ( extra) 1 pudding ..a soufflé not great 4 coffees 4 beers 4 vodka and lemonade ....£148 45 could have had 6 course taster menu at Myango which is way ahead in both taste and presentation for under £12 more for 4 people .sadly this is off my list
