As usual food was good but the seating at tables for two was a little tight!
First drink of Bulmers cider had a sweet taste, almost as though lime had been added. The waitress replaced with a fresh glass of Bulmers. Never happened before!

We only had a small meal but the food was very tasty and nicely set out. We had a table by the window and the view is spectacular. Also the large windows give light and good vviewing. A bu`` of chatter from other guests added to the good ambience.

We have used the Boathouse on many occasions and the food and service have always been excellent.

Yesterday although the quality of the food was still excellent, we were extremely disappointed with a number of basic issues, i.e. having to request the correct cutlery to eat soup - only knife and fork provided, having to ask for butter to accompany the soup and rolls, a significant delay between the starters and mains - circa 45 minutes with no explanation as to the cause of the delay and then having to ask for utensils to serve the condiment - horseradish. When paying the bill there was a brief comment around the issues with the kitchen when I highlighted our disappointment.

Whilst we acknowledge that on some occasions things can go wrong, we would have at least expected an explanation and apology in respect of the delay so that it did not detract from our dining experience.

No doubt you will relay our comments to the manager as necessary.
