Loved the corned beef hash cake & lemon tart. Not so keen on the cask beer selection since change of ownership.

Excellent meals eaten in pleasant surroundings with friendly and efficient staff serving you. Their fish pie is very good, plenty of it and very hot so be careful, the bacon loin with two fried eggs is excellent value.

Love going to the Boathouse for a meal, been going there for many years. Only disappointment last night was the Dover Sole wasn't available (our favourite dish)! Of an evening in the Winter I always feel rather chilly, which is rather uncomfortable. Unfortunately, last night, my Duck was very hard to chew which was very disappointing & unusual, otherwise staff very attentive as usual.

Booked lunch as a birthday treat for my wife as she wanted to visit Parkgate. I didn't quite know what to expect as websites always tell a slightly better story but the food was as described and enjoyable. A wide choice of generally normal/expected fayre, well presented, fresh and not too expensive.

Each dish was very good indeed.

The food portion control seems to be too small and you need to add vegetables to any order - seeing as you only do red cabbage and shaved sprouts, a re-think there is needed; carrots, peas, green beans, etc would be ideal.

The rubbery plastic "flatbread" should be avoided - awful.

However, on the whole the evening was very enjoyable, great ambience, good service, excellent Lowry ale and the food (not the flatbread), was very tasty. Thank you.

The staff were friendly and helpful my farther and I ate off the menu but the chef prepared a cheese and mushroom omelette with salad for my wife. All food was excellent and the views great.
