We had a superb meal, far superior to normal pub food. I had the lamb dish which was beautiful to look at and tasted amazing. My husband had the fish with triple cooked chips and he said it was the best he had eaten. Lovely friendly service too.

Labelled ‘A serious foodie contender’ in The Midlands area by The Good Food Guide, 2 AA Rosette-awarded The Bluebell offers simple European cuisine with an indulgent twist. A Mediterranean-inspired decking area lends itself to al fresco dining, while the lavish Bluebell afternoon tea has become something of a trademark.

Garnering Michelin praise, The Bluebell menu showcases the work of expert chefs, and includes duck with pickled summer vegetables and halibut with almonds, smoked bacon and watercress sauce. Classics like fish and chips and ribeye steak with hand-cut chips are also on offer, while a white chocolate cheesecake with passionfruit and orange sorbet heads the desserts.

Take afternoon tea in the charming country-farmhouse dining room, where finely-trimmed finger sandwiches, homemade fruit scones, clotted cream and fresh jams dominate the delicacies. A selection of loose leaf teas and steaming hot coffees are paired with chocolate brownies, cinnamon Victoria sponge with orange buttercream, and passionfruit pavlova.

Swathed in black and white timber, The Bluebell in Warwickshire is a 7-minute walk from Henley-In-Arden Rail Station.

The restaurant is under new management. The service and food were appalling. The owner is clearly cutting back on overheads as he is cooking the food himself rather than hiring a fully trained chef. Food was cold. The owner admitted he then microwaved it. There was no meat whatsoever on the pork belly, and the triple cooked chips were over cooked with no potatoe inside! I do not expect this place to be open for long.

Excellent historic pub in the centre of Henley High Street. The menu is varied from fish and chips to sea bass, cod, and steaks. Starters include the basics of pate plus goats cheese, mackerel and crab and portions are generous. Our starters were delicious and main courses expertly cooked. The Pinot Grigio wine was delicious and the after dinner ruby port really high quality. My husband's birthday was generously marked with a complimentary glass of prosecco for us all on arrival, plus a happy Birthday plate with home made marshmellows. Really appreciated. Service was efficient, friendly and not intrusive. 100% all round. Will definitely return.

Adult food was quite tasty and worth the money
Child's roast beef lunch for some reason came with a melted horseradish cream all over the plate and at 2 years old my boy would not eat it . At £10 I refused to pay for it .
Service was great until assistant manager got involved then it went to pot
Desserts with no cutlery and ignoring my wife when asking about drinks .
    Very poor indeed .
The girl who was originally looking after us was just fine
Added to the request for a high chair was ignored on the booking didn't help The added 10% gratuity just made it a joke .
    Better places to go

It was a Saturday evening when we went along to the Bluebell, we had been there previously but not since it had changed hands. We booked a table for 7.15. The bar area was heaving and they clearly didn't have enough staff on to deal with the amount of customers. We got given a table about 8 near the kitchens which wasn't a great spot. I had scallops and my partner had mackerel, both dishes were tasteless and scallops badly cooked. For mains I had baked cod which was a really small serving and my partner had steak which had to be returned to the kitchen as it wasn't cooked as requested. At no point did anyone ask if we were enjoying our meals . Our bill for food and drinks was £80 and we felt we had wasted our money. The place lacked atmosphere, toilets didn't have loo paper outside there was a pile of wooden pallets and no lighting in the car park. We were very disappointed, with thr food, service and the general appearance of the Bluebell, we won't be returning.

A very happy Mother's Day - the food, service and atmosphere were all first-class, nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and attentive staff. I believe the Bluebell is under new management and it shows, the new owners should be proud of the standards they have set. Highly recommended - and thanks to all involved in what was a busy but calm and relaxed Mother's Day lunch. And the glass of fizz for Mum was a particularly nice touch - thank you.

Lunch yesterday - Mothers Day was overall a pleasant experience. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and taken to our table, where the staff were very helpful in seating my 90 year old mum. The menu was extensive and in the main consisted of local produce which we appreciated. I think (given how busy a day it was) it might have been better to limit the choice of main courses, as we had to wait quite a long time after the starter before the main course. This was a bit difficult for a 90 year old hungry mother to comprehend! Overall the food was very good - I had duck breast which was very tasty. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the ambience was good. We will visit again.

Excellent restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, great menu and food. Booked an early table and waited a while to be served but food arrived in good time and was excellent. Overall experience was tarnished by being ejected from our table at 8:30 despite being told we had the table until 9 when booking, as the restaurant had clearly overbooked.
