Lovely ambience, great food and wonderful service. A little on the expensive side but for the experience, actually well worth it.

I have really enjoyed my dinner at The Blue Door Bistro. The ambiance was definitely very warm and cosy. I enjoyed the amuses that I got, I was iimpressed with the way I could have my tea with the tea timer and above all: the food was excellent (both the fish and chips and the mille feuille with the chocolate brownie. I know that it is custom in England, but I am not so pleased when I see that a discretionary service charge has been added to the bill. I know that one does not have to pay it, but for some reason I always feel uncomfortable/maybe disappointed when I see that.

Lovely place and excellent food. Especially recommended after paying a visit to the British Museum, this peaceful place is also very welcoming, and the service is excellent. The Guinea fowl is absolutely fantastic. I'd go back for the afternoon tea as it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Flash from the past. This reminded me of restaurants my parents took me to 50 years ago. I loved it. Not for everyone but if you want to see how things were done properly, the service, the meals etc then this is the place.
They even delivered an actual caesar salad, the kind restaurants all produced when it first became an item, with anchovies and egg based sauce. Terrific.
Little things like proper cutlery, napkins placed on the lap, meals all coming at once, etc.
Lovely cauliflower soup. Steaks, lamb, all done perfectly, although perhaps a bit bland, just like in my parent's day!
And the other common rooms of the hotel are out of some Edwardian novel. Impeccably clean washrooms.
Loved it and will go back!
