A charming rural pub with upstairs guesthouse, The Blue Bell Inn sources produce from the best Yorkshire providers to serve up a premium British gastropub menu. There is also al fresco seating for the warmer weather, and open fires for when it gets chilly.
The Blue Bell Inn menu boasts distinctly British flavours – to start, there are cider-steamed mussels, and sharing bites like ham hock and black pudding Scotch egg. Classic choices include beer-battered fish and chips, beef and root vegetable pie, as well as roast rump of lamb with crispy fried liver, fondant potato and red wine sauce. There is also a kids' menu, and a range of sandwiches served during the day.
There are sumptuous desserts served up at The Blue Bell Inn Harrogate, including homemade treacle tart, rum and raisin crème brûlée, and dark chocolate and orange mousse. The wine list is extensive and features regularly changing guest bottles, and there is also a great choice of beers and cask ales.
With a homely ambience and classic British comfort, The Blue Bell Inn is 22 minutes' drive from Harrogate Rail Station.

I booked the Bluebell Inn having only read online reviews, as I wanted to meet a friend for dinner half way between where we both lived, that was also not far from the motorway etc. I cannot believe that just a few miles off the A1 you can find this beautiful chocolate box restaurant. A real hidden gem. It is hidden away so my satnas struggled to convince me it knew where it was going but once you get there the look, feel and atmosphere are great - food was tasty and not overly pricey. Really recommend it.

Went for the French night and really enjoyed the menu choices. The atmosphere was nice and the place got busy but the staff were great, friendly and helpful.
Was sitting in the rear restaurant and the only thing that jarred was the shouting and noise from the kitchen as the swing door didn't shut properly, but hey! that's the chef's domain!!
Could have done with some bread for the first course..... the scallops were delicious but needed a little bread to soak up the wonderful buttery sauce!! I didn't bother asking for some, so not an issue.
Didn't really like the large goblets for my gin and tonic..... I prefer a traditional long glass personally.

Great food and service although we were never asked if we would like another drink once we were sat down and the tap water brought to the table would have been better with ice cubes. But that is just miner, overall very good.

The fish curry was excellent and a visual delight to behold while our side order of roast potatoes was not questioned as an unusual "curry companion" and, in my opinion, quite the best roast potatoes I've had in any restraint, anywhere. Well done to the Bluebell team
