A charming rural pub with upstairs guesthouse, The Blue Bell Inn sources produce from the best Yorkshire providers to serve up a premium British gastropub menu. There is also al fresco seating for the warmer weather, and open fires for when it gets chilly.

The Blue Bell Inn menu boasts distinctly British flavours – to start, there are cider-steamed mussels, and sharing bites like ham hock and black pudding Scotch egg. Classic choices include beer-battered fish and chips, beef and root vegetable pie, as well as roast rump of lamb with crispy fried liver, fondant potato and red wine sauce. There is also a kids' menu, and a range of sandwiches served during the day.

There are sumptuous desserts served up at The Blue Bell Inn Harrogate, including homemade treacle tart, rum and raisin crème brûlée, and dark chocolate and orange mousse. The wine list is extensive and features regularly changing guest bottles, and there is also a great choice of beers and cask ales.

With a homely ambience and classic British comfort, The Blue Bell Inn is 22 minutes' drive from Harrogate Rail Station.

The restaurant is furnished to a very high standard and was very clean. We had the lamb and mint pie which was cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We have had several meals there and have never been disappointed. We look forward to going again.

Good menu choice and different from 'the norm'. Lovely environment & attentive, professional staff.
2 of our party chose fish that was later informed as unavailable. The waiting staff maybe had not been briefed before service

We were disappointed. This was our anniversary meal my husband proposed 35 years ago at the Bluebell inn
I ordered chowder for starter and hake with samphire foam for main. What I actually got was very nice starter followed by the same dish with a piece of Hake . My husbands meal was ok. I felt cheated perhaps it would be useful for the manager to have the 2 dishes and see what his thoughts were
When our main dish was served the waiter reached right across the front of me to serve my husband, could do with some training

First visit and we were v impressed. Decorated v tastefully for Christmas and nice atmosphere. Service excellent and the food was jolly good too. My fish was enormous and tasty. The only criticism I have, is the table surface felt 'sticky'. Not sure why - possibly the type of cleaner that was used? But all 4 in my group noticed it. However my husband left his mobile phone on the table (which we fortunately realised before we had travelled too far), but when we got home we found a message from the Blue Bell telling us they had found it. Very commendable. It was a half hour journey for us but well worth it. Thank you.
