A rustic waterside village pub with a decked terrace for al fresco dining, The Black Horse – Milton Keynes serves a menu of simple but wholesome British pub food. With cushioned seats, red walls & windows overlooking the Grand Union Canal, this pub is a country-style retreat in the historic village of Great Lindford.

Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Black Horse menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.

A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Black Horse – Milton Keynes cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.

The Black Horse in Buckinghamshire is a 6-minute drive from Wolverton Rail Station.

We had a lovely meal. Great atmosphere with roaring log fires. Sandy and Julie looked after us very well. The cod and chips and the fish cakes were delicious.

what a lovely pub by the water and the front of house staff did so well keeping a resturant calm due to a host of complaints about the food. We ordered at around 745 2 steaks and waited an hour before we asked if they would be long and they said they were busy but it will be soon. At 9:20 we recieved two plates of cold food. i had to laugh as i tried to cut a cold steak that was shrivvled and overcooked. The chips were not cooked. I couldnt believe it so i told them its cold its tough its half past nine and we dont want this. They refunded the bill and apologised as they were clearly embarrassed about the kitchen. Amanda was great at keeping other people from going off the boil with the same problem. I was told " it was a bad night".would i go back? yes i loved the pub but i would ask to cook my own dinner :-)

Beautiful country pub right on the canal all nooks and crannies and beams with amazing amount of space inside also nice outside space which will be perfect when weather warmer. Service very friendly and pretty efficient , a little slow but they were busy and it was sunday afternoon. Food was AMAZING , one of the best sunday roasts ive ever had with plenty of everything. Menu options are very good with some unusual items making it alot more interesting than an average pub grub menu
