Another great dinner at the Bingham. Delicious food, stunning venue and friendly, attentive staff. Definitely my favourite restaurant in Richmond - the Ivy Cafe included!

Awarded 3 AA Rosettes, the Bingham Restaurant and Bar offers modern British cuisine for special affairs and everyday occasions. Located in a slice of the countryside in London's Richmond upon Thames, the Bingham property is a restored riverside Georgian townhouse with al fresco balcony dining in the warmer months. Head Chef Andrew Cole and his team serve up interesting and subtle dishes using the freshest seasonal ingredients from sound suppliers.

The Bingham menu features exquisite dishes like pork fillet with seared scallops and pancetta bacon, and sea bream with textures of Jerusalem artichoke and roast bass sauce. The Bingham offers a light market menu, a la carte, tasting as well as a great Sunday menu for grazing and daily afternoon tea.

With large French windows and doors and opulent decor, this fusion of design accentuates the picturesque riverside setting and offers guests a bit of laidback luxury. Standing on the bank of the Thames in an enviable spot between Richmond Bridge and Petersham Meadows, the Bingham boasts panoramic views across the water and is only a 12-minute walk or 5-minute drive from Richmond Train Station.

Great food and very good, courteous service. It's not cheap but it's worth it.

Excellent lunch for our 46th wedding anniversary celebration. Super way to spend a wet Saturday afternoon.
The market menu proved a good choice with interesting cuisine well presented. Service was attentive without being too pressing. The ham hock rillette was the pick of the starters and both the mains, hake and chicken, were good. The champagne did its job of tweaking the appetite and the Pinot Noir was ideal.
The restaurant was busy with a mix of families and couples but that proved at add to the atmosphere and not detract...unusually when high chairs are involved...so a compliment to the staff who organised the table effectively.

All the food we had chosen from the menu was excellent from presentation to taste.
The waiters serving us were brilliant.
Definitely recommend Bingham restaurant to friends & family.
We had our the booking for the evening, but I'd say it would be beautiful outside.

They seem to have a new chef, all the dishes we chose from the Market Menu were excellent - a marked improvement over last year. We will be back soon, notwithstanding the annoying £5 charge for parking.

Disappointing this time I'm afraid, although we've been before a couple of years ago and loved it. The setting is still beautiful and the service still friendly and efficient, but the food itself was below expectations unfortunately. A couple of specific examples below :
Poached egg and asparagus starter - Quite difficult and unsatisfying to eat as textures all too soft and runny (would perhaps benefit from bigger pieces of asparagus to give you something to get hold of?)
Cod main course with curry sauce - The curry sauce had a quite unpleasant flavour that overpowered everything else.
White wine served not quite cold enough, although this improved whilst being on ice as we ate.

Lovely afternoon tea. Our only criticism was that service was a little slow and we had to ask more than once for ordered drinks and to pay the bill. But service was friendly and polite. Also, given that we had advised it was a mini baby shower, it would have been more comfortable to have been seated at a proper table rather than a low coffee table as our pregnant guests found it a bit uncomfortable to bend over to reach the coffee table. All that aside, though, we had a lovely time in your lovely venue.

We chose the £45 tasting menu, which we found good overall -maybe not as special of our memories of the Bingham a few years ago but perfectly respectable. The wine list is extensive and the sommelier was passionate about Portuguese wines.
Unfortunately the waiter was clueless -seriously, who puts ice cubes in a kir?
Overall a good dinner experience in a fine setting, nothing exceptional though for the price.

We enjoyed the dining experience. The staff made us very welcome and arranged so that we had a good view of the river. The staff were attentive and patient. The food was excellent. We had made arrangements for parking because one of the party is disabled and everything went smoothly. Our friend thought it was a real treat and we have booked again for an evening meal with family.
