Good reception by friendly staff. Diverse selection of interesting dishes, although service was a little slow in the busy restaurant. Good quality food, served hot and together, by attentive staff. Generally provided good value for money. Unfortunately, there was a bad smell in the car park to the rear of the restaurant!

Excellent food. Everything we had was delicious and served up with panache making it a great dining experience. The restaurant area is large and one wonders how it would be at capacity. On a Tuesday lunchtime it was perfect. The only issue was the terrible canned music!

We booked a table for 2.30 upon arrival the restaurant was extremely busy, and we expected that we might have to wait but this was not so our table was ready on time. The staff were extremely efficient drinks were served while we perused the excellent menu and our orders were taken promptly and efficiently. The meal was excellent, good portions well prepared and presented. We had one slight hiccup with a steak being rare instead of medium rare, but the staff dealt with this promptly and efficiently with a replacement meal. Overall an excellent meal in a wonderfully atmospheric building to celebrate my birthday.

Well decorated cosy pub with a good menu. Service was very friendly and attentive. Down side table 45 adjacent to kitchen door which can get lots of foot traffic when busy

All of our meals were fine apart from our friends meal the Buttermilk Southern Fried Chicken, for the price you charge for that it is definitely not worth it. This should have only have been charged at around £10 or !11 pounds or you should include another chicken if you continue to charge at that price.
We have visited The Bell many times in the past before you had it re-vamped before Christmas. We decided to bring a couple of friends with us who had never been to The Bell before as we had said how good it was there but our friends were not impressed due to the chicken meal.
They have said that they would never go to The Bell again and we have got to admit we will never rush back again either for the same reason.

Food was lovely however it was not very warm and I think food should be served hot so when eating the meat and veg is not congealing in cold gravy.
Refurbishment looks good
food served quickly is this why it was cool as it was not reheated enough?
Staff very pleasant.

Lovely Sunday lunch but they seemed very busy. It was hard to attract attention and ask for items missing roast chicken dinner missing the bread sauce on both, roast pork dinner did not have the bacon wrapped stuffing. It took 2 1/2 hours to have 2 courses and 35 mins for an order of drinks to arrive and no Guinness so quite disappointed. Also very chilly.
