Good food, good service. Reasonably priced drinks. Had the specials starter of scallops and black pudding which was excellent. Sirloin steak for mains was nicely cooked.
Good selection of craft gins

Built in the early 1600s, The Bears Head offers quintessentially British fare and old pub favourites from an accomplished and diverse menu. Teeming with ivy, a sprawling flagstone courtyard sits alongside the black and white timber-clad exterior, while inside, chunky wooden furnishing and crackling open fires punctuate the dining area.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Bears Head menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Bears Head ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Bears Head in Cheshire is just a 4-minute drive away from the popular Brereton Heath Local Nature Reserve, which boasts a 40-hectare park, lake and woodland.

Disappointed with my meal I orders rump steak ( medium -well done ) the steak was so tough I could not cut it with steak knife on complaining I got a n apology and was offered another meal which I accepted . But by the time it arrived my husband had already finished his meal as we were celebrating an anniversary it wasn't a very good experience ( they did take the cost of my meal off the bill but that wasn't the point !!!

Absolutely fantastic, I was really pleased to see that I could book a table so easily at my favourite pub restaurant for a really delicious meal - my only problem was that the starters and mains are so yummy & filling that I didnt have room for dessert.
The Bears Head is a gorgeous old coaching inn thats been expanded & still has all the original old beams clearly visible, adding to its old world charm - its cosy, private & luxuriously romantic without being overly expensive (we paid just over £60 for 2 starters, 2 mains & 4 drinks), everything is freshly sourced and cooked to perfection and the staff are both very friendly and very professional. I'll definitely be booking again using bookatable to guarantee I can get a table next time I go & strongly recommend that anyone who hasnt been gives it a try - you wont be disappointed.
