Was made very welcome from the start and had very polite staff, food was lovely, the open fires made it very comfortable and relaxed surroundings, definitely eat here again. ?????

Formerly a cluster of 18th-century farm cottages, The Beagle serves traditional British fare in a historic setting which borders the rural fringes of Sproughton. A crackling log fire, al fresco dining area and paddocked gardens add to The Beagle’s country charm, together with a mishmash of squashy furniture.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Beagle menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Beagle ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

An 11-minute drive from Christchurch Mansion & Wolsey Art Gallery, The Beagle in Ipswich is just an 8-minute drive from the town centre.

I was disappointed with the quality of the fillet steak. I would have been more satisfied with a smaller piece of top quality steak.

Lack of staff made a very long wait between each course.....had to return starter.....deserts were not great

My friend and I waited about 15 mins for our order to be a amen and that was only because I called the waitress over. We both ordered burger which arrived almost cold, chips were hot.

Whenever we dine here at least one of the dishes is served not as described in the menu. I had the salmon with bell peppers and veg. I didn't want the potatoes but it was served minus the peppers aswell.

I was immediately drawn to the Lamb dish (which included a shepherd's pie ) when viewing the menu, but was disappointed to learn that there was none, and it hadn't been available due to supply problems. I settled for the fish and chips, which was filling and cooked well.
Our waitress was very pleasant, and the atmosphere was warm and "Christmasy".
