Formerly a cluster of 18th-century farm cottages, The Beagle serves traditional British fare in a historic setting which borders the rural fringes of Sproughton. A crackling log fire, al fresco dining area and paddocked gardens add to The Beagle’s country charm, together with a mishmash of squashy furniture.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Beagle menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Beagle ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

An 11-minute drive from Christchurch Mansion & Wolsey Art Gallery, The Beagle in Ipswich is just an 8-minute drive from the town centre.

No problem. Sunday roasts. No problem with us asking for extra gravy! Not that it was short, we just like lots of gravy!

Food was excellent, service goovery good too. The only problem we had was trying to sort the bill out. We were accidentally overcharged and also had a voucher and it took 3 times to sort out but overall the staff member was really apologetic so I had no problem. Mistakes are made and this was rectified.

Both myself and colleague loved this restaurant/pub. It's really cosy, welcoming. The food was really great. A place I feel so relaxed in. Definitely keep going back.

The Beagle was a very welcoming cosy pub and the food was very good and excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and attentive, we would dine here again.

I was disappointed with the quality of the fillet steak. I would have been more satisfied with a smaller piece of top quality steak.

My friend and I waited about 15 mins for our order to be a amen and that was only because I called the waitress over. We both ordered burger which arrived almost cold, chips were hot.

Whenever we dine here at least one of the dishes is served not as described in the menu. I had the salmon with bell peppers and veg. I didn't want the potatoes but it was served minus the peppers aswell.
