Bestowed with a Michelin star in 2012, The Bath Priory Hotel offers an exemplary British fine dining experience. In this majestic stately home-style setting, celebrated chef Sam Moody showcases expertise honed working under TV chef, Michael Caines.

While enjoying views over the award-winning hotel gardens, guests can enjoy supreme culinary innovation, with much produce sourced from the Priory’s very own kitchen garden. With ingredients traceable down to the vary last salad leaf, dishes on The Bath Priory menu include butter poached Brixham turbot with smoked bacon velouté, or Priory farm rhubarb soufflé with rhubarb and ginger sorbet.

With a commitment to sourcing wine from bespoke or rare producers, The Bath Priory cellar showcases a regularly changing, cherry-picked selection. The resident sommelier is always on hand to offer inspired recommendations.

In a leafy suburb of the city, The Priory in Bath is just a 6-minute drive from the historic centre. Please note, a smart casual dress code is observed for evening dining. In the evenings, children over the age of 12 are more than welcome to dine in the restaurant from the a la carte menu. Children over the age of 5 are very welcome in the restaurant for lunch.

We had the tasting menu for dinner and it was fabulous - every course was absolutely delicious.

My wife and I went as a special treat as we had a day off work and live around the corner. We had the set lunch menu, which was excellent. The service was superb, and was friendly whilst still formal (as you would expect from such a restaurant).
Setting was perfect in restaurant, with views out onto the gardens. We will definitely be going again!

Loads of charming people to greet us, take our coats and serve us. We came on a lovely sunny day and the dining room was wonderful, sunshine streaming in and the beautiful, meticulously maintained garden beyond. The tables looked chic and I always love white linen tablecloths and napkins. The flower in the round glass vase was pretty.

I like simple food, brilliantly cooked and with lots of vegetables. Unfortunately I am not a fan of little intricate courses. While we waited we were given some odd looking canapes, which I did not like at all - sorry! There was also an appetiser of mackerel cerviche - again not a great fan of tiny cubes of food although it was tasty. I had salmon as a starter and it was delicious as was the walnut bread. The pollack was beautifully cooked and delightful but I would have liked more vegetables, there were next to none! The pudding was perfect, I had the soufflé, a real treat not many restaurants attempt souffles these days. The accompaniments to our tea and coffee were again style over substance. I would have expected a really good Hotel du Chocolat standard chocolate.

To sum up the food, I thought it was style over substance - sorry! The dining room is wonderful though.

Fabulous food, attentive service and great cocktails. Understated, classic luxury.

We opted for the set lunch on a Saturday at a very reasonable £30 per head. This was our fourth visit and, once again, the Bath Priory didn't disappoint. Very welcoming staff, lovely gardens, relaxing reception rooms and, importantly, top notch food (the venison main, in particular).

Excellent lunch in lovely surroundings. From the moment we arrived and were greeted at the car with umbrellas I thought we were in for a special experience. Excellent attention from all the team but especially the senior team who were a delight. Every dish was beautifully prepared. The food was excellent value although all drinks both in the lounge and the wine list were at the very top end of acceptable! The dining room was a delight bright light beautifully finished and with a lovely outlook. Overall an excellent experience and one we will be only too happy to repeat.
