Lovely experience just a short taxi ride from town. We had Cornish Crab, Pheasant Egg, Dover Sole and lastly Pigeon. Everything was excellent.

While enjoying views over the award-winning hotel gardens, guests can enjoy supreme culinary innovation, with much produce sourced from the Priory’s very own kitchen garden. With ingredients traceable down to the vary last salad leaf, dishes on The Bath Priory menu include butter poached Brixham turbot with smoked bacon velouté, or Priory farm rhubarb soufflé with rhubarb and ginger sorbet.

With a commitment to sourcing wine from bespoke or rare producers, The Bath Priory cellar showcases a regularly changing, cherry-picked selection. The resident sommelier is always on hand to offer inspired recommendations.

In a leafy suburb of the city, The Priory in Bath is just a 6-minute drive from the historic centre. Please note, a smart casual dress code is observed for evening dining. In the evenings, children over the age of 12 are more than welcome to dine in the restaurant from the a la carte menu. Children over the age of 5 are very welcome in the restaurant for lunch.

stunning lunch, loved all the courses with great service

Excellent in every way from start to finish.Great tasting food beautifully presented, in lovely surroundings. Unfortunately, on the hottest day of the year, the temperature in parts of the restaurant was close to unbearable hence the star rating. If these weather conditions are to become the norm [as predicted] then management will need to consider air con and/or customers will need to consider their options.

I was extremely disappointed especially as the meal was a birthday gift for a friend. I have eaten in some really wonderful restaurants, I do not feel this was anything special and certainly not worthy of a Michelin star. My friend and I ordered steak for the main course, cooked rare and medium, after eating for several minutes we noticed we had been given the wrong ones. This is amateur. The head waitress was solemn. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

We were celebrating my husband's 60th birthday with the family and were very much looking forward to it as we have been twice before and rated it in the top 5 all time best meals.... so high expectations! The food and service lived up to all we expected, it was delicious. The only let down was that due to a wedding taking place at the same time (which we were warned about) we ended up in the sectioned off area of the dining room on our own which was a shame as we felt a bit isolated. However that was the only gripe, we all loved each course. the slow cooked egg with the asparagus volute scored very highly, as did the pasta dish which I cant remember the name of now! My son thought the praline chocolate he had with his coffee was the best chocolate he had ever eaten!!!

Setting was lovely and picturesque, the service was impeccable, the team made sure you were not rushed and kept you comfortable throughout the entire visit, best part of the experience was the service.
Whenever we visit a nice restaurant we always chose the tasting menu as we did on this occasion. Whilst the food was all cooked perfectly the flavours just weren't quite there. Each course was either too subtle, or had one flavour that was too over powering- for example the chicken dish literally tasted of nothing but overpowering chicken, there was no other flavour we could taste to compliment it. With a couple of tweaks it could be excellent but I think it needs to step up slightly I'm afraid.
But the service was what you would expect of a 5*.
Also some subtle background music in the restaurant would've been nice.

it's not a one star Michelin restaurant

The Priory experience was as good as usual. From the reservation of my 'disabled parking' space through to the way in which the staff said farewell, the service was impeccable. The attention to detail was excellent throughout. As ever their bread was superb; the amuse-bouche innovative and tasty, and as for the lamb shoulder! Perfect! Ordered a rather lovely chocolate dessert which I shouldn't have done, but it was worth it.

My Father and I sat at a beautiful table overlooking the garden which was wonderful and felt like our own private dining area, being looked after by Lara who I cannot recommend highly enough..... so attentive and professional as was their extremely knowledgeable Sommelier. We will most definitely be recommending the Bath Priory to our Family & Friends, and hope to visit again in the not too distant future. With Many Thanks Joanna
