Wonderful canapés in the drawing room, a very nice touch.
Food was absolutely spectacular.
I would have liked to see more seafood options.
Service was perfect.
As good or better than under Michael caines/Sam moody.
Sommelier was brilliant.

We went for the tasting menu and enjoyed most courses. Service was fine but quite as good as on previous visits.

Absolutely wonderful! The posh picnic for our nephew in hospital was much appreciated also.

    The Mackerel gespacho was fantastic

Food and service were impeccable. The food served gave me even some ideas for home cooking. Yet coffee and petit fours did not correlate to the price charged (especially when the petit fours were declared to be complimentary).

Food, service, ambience in restaurant was all excellent (especially chefs surprise lettuce gazpacho soup!), however the main course of the lunch set menu could have been a slightly bigger portion, perhaps with a suitable side dish with it.

We moved over to the library of the hotel to have our tea (excellent, smooth transfer from dining room to there and such good service throughout). Only thing as feedback for the hotel -the library interior could be slightly refurbished (old carpet and sofas with big dents in them from the fillings being worn out).

Loved the food. All very good.

Service was excellent; old-school fashion, hotel-like, at the door but very friendly and relaxed staff serving.
The food was really well done and surprising at times. I did find the dishes (entrees and mains) a bit unbalanced as the "meat" has not much for company. The two fish dishes (gazpacho and brill) were a bit undercooked in my opinion. Again, all well-done, looked good on the place and tasted even better but you need to feel brave and really trust the place (so I chose lamb for mains). Desserts choice is not abundant. Maybe a bit expensive for the actual menu compared to similar restaurants in the area.

It's a lovely hotel with a charming dining room and a delightful garden. The food was excellent. I enjoyed asparagus soup with egg, lamb, and rhubarb souffle. All were good, very hard to choose a favourite out of the three, perhaps the soup. Service was attentive but not intrusive.
