Neatly lodged opposite Broadhalfpenny Down Cricket Ground, The Bat and Ball is a historic British pub at the top of its game. The cosy interior space features a roaring fireplace during winter and al fresco dining can be enjoyed in the garden at summertime.
Spanning from salads and juicy burgers to piping-hot, stuffed-full pies, The Bat and Ball menu is lovingly prepared by the talented resident chefs. Ingredients are sourced from across the British Isles, and meats and daily-fresh fish catches can be traced back directly to sustainable, trusted suppliers. Choose from dishes including Hampshire game terrine, or Owtons rib-eye of beef.
The Bat and Ball pub also presents a renowned drinks list, featuring award-winning ales including Fuller’s most well-known brew, London Pride. Fine wines, premium spirits and soft drinks are also on offer.
Set in Hampshire's picturesque countryside, The Bat and Ball Clanfield is a 3-minute drive from the Clanfield Observatory.

We had a great time
((((( 17 May 2016 by Marcus Hartley from Southampton
The staff here are friendly, polite and genuinely seem happy to receive guests. I have never experienced such fantastic service. The pub is in a lovely setting. we arrived on a busy day and still the pub felt comfortable and not at all overcrowded. Very clean toilets. Great wall pièces based around the history of the place. A little more expensive than microwave special chain pubs but food is worth way more than what you pay. It is refreshing not to complain about cold food or ignorant staff or wrong orders or 20 minute orders becoming an hours wait. I added an extra person close to our booked time and it was no trouble.I CANNOT COMPLAIN ABOUT A THING, ONLY COMPLIMENTS!!!!!!!!!! Bar person to manager and all in between.

Not expecting us. Roast dinners and roast potatoes not available. Food supplied was tasty but unadventurous. Surroundings very pleasant and staff welcoming
