Very pleasant staff, good variety on the menu and the food was excellent. Overall, a lovely place to dine.

Built from reclaimed materials, The Barn Owl sits above a former agricultural district and serves quality British pub food from an eclectic menu. Olive green walls complement distressed oak furnishings and raw brickwork, whilst a sprawling beer garden caters for al fresco dining at The Barn Owl in Devon.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Barn Owl menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Barn Owl ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Perched upon the fringes of the M5, The Barn Owl in Exeter sits right at the hub of Exeter Business Park.

Very disappointed, tiny 'sharing' platter, not enough for one yet alone to share

    No butter with bread

    Deconstructed prawn cocktail was poor

    Carrot cake/cheesecake was dry/stale

Enough said, we won't be going back

After a wait of 50 minutes to receive our food, the food was really nice & everyone said their meals were very nice..

Despite poor reviews, we decided to give the restaurant a go and were pleasantly surprised. Service good, food lovely, really cosy atmosphere. Would definitely return. Don't believe all you read online!

Service behind the bar was slow and not attentive enough. Fish and chips was absolutely fantastic, although once we got the service of the waitrose it was excellent. Booking service was excellent, We had to ask to be looked after ie order our food etc. Very much lacking in good quality waitress service

The waitress was pleasant and polite, the fish on the specials was way overcooked, although the other meals were fine

    Venue very good
Food - trying to be something it's not Steak should have been medium came overcooked so bad they took it off the bill my well done steak had been to the crematorium.
They should stop selling wine Ordered the most expensive it was just placed on the table by a young waitress and when we just sat there she asked if we wanted it opened - she was totally unaware that wine bottles sometimes have corks. I asked her to open it she left never to return.
I eventually went to the bar with the bottle where the person did open the bottle without removing the foil covering the Cork so we has bits of foil hanging into the bottle
It was an experience but one I would not wish to repeat
I realise at the end of the day it's a pub but they advertise and promote themselves as an upmarket restaurant
