Facing out onto the picturesque Cropston Reservoir, The Badgers Sett champions quality British fare in a charming pub setting. As well as a spacious garden for al fresco dining, the traditional and cosy interior of The Badgers Sett in Leicestershire harks back to times gone by.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Badgers Sett menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Badgers Sett ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Badgers Sett in Cropston sits right on the fringes of the village’s stunning reservoir, whilst the Cropston Cricket Club is just a 5-minute walk away.

good food for adults and very pleasant staff. child menu not good. only peas offered as veg and the chunky chips are not really what children like to eat. french fries would be better.

The fillet steak was exceptional but there were no where near enough chips. The duck salad was a complete rip off at £12.95 with just a few gem lettuce leaves and a small handful of duck that looked like croutons. It was starter size rather than a main course. If we were not getting 25%off it would have gone back. We had wanted to order roast chicken but at 7pm on a Saturday evening it had run out.

Enjoyed a really good lunch here catching up with an old business colleague. Nice venue - good class of surroundings and clientele without being stuffy. Good value and the food was great.

We have visited many Vintage Inns over the years and can say that The Badgers Sett is very welcoming with good service and food. My only criticism is that the main was a little slow in coming after the starter. We will definitely visit again.

Slow - food took 2 hours to arrive, when it did arrive they missed off an order, giving it to another diner.

Welcomed by a lovely lady Phillipa, seated and drinks order taken.
Ordered food which took ages to come, 45 mins, (restaurant was not to busy !). I has to ask for progress on order it was that long.
Food was OK but no but portion size varied vastly.
Sea bass was superb with plenty of sides. On the other hand the Rump steak was over cooked, 8 chips and what can only be described as small onion fritter. Not to impressed.
Sweet again took ages to arrive. Trifle was best ever, platter of sweets was good, whereas the apple pie was poor, with runny custard in a minute jug.

Overall I would say, service good, food very average, restaurant ok. Drinks selection good.
Gentle men's toilets was awash with wet floor, no very nice.
