Tucked away in the leafy village of Betchworth, The Arkle Manor is a refurbished gastro pub with a well-sized outdoor dining area. Enjoy modern British cuisine in a rustic environment in the bar & restaurant, which enjoy plenty of natural light, fireplaces & cosy corners for intimate dining.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Arkle Manor menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Arkle Manor bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The Arkle Manor in Surrey is close to both Dorking and Reigate. Betchworth Rail Station is a 3-minute drive away.

The service was excellent. The waiter was very friendly, always with a smile. He was very patient with us as my friend and I were busy chatting so hadn't even looked at the menu for the main or the dessert! He came over on several occasions and we were making a joke of it.
    The meal was absolutely delicious.

Being Mothering Sunday it was always going to be busy and realistically probably not the best time to book if you wanted value for money and quick service.
There was only a set menu available at £24.95 per head for 3 courses. which meant for a 13 yr old boy his choices were going to be limited for the starters.and expensive for a child.
My partner and I chose the crab pot which was only a quarter full and although it was very nice as it only came with 3 finger slices of ciabatta it seemed not good value for money however, but tasty none the less.
They'd ran out of lamb disappointingly but the chicken was nice and good value, my pork was a little fatty and only one slice wasn't a good of choice for a hungry adult.
Desserts were standard, well presented however but after nearly 2 hours from start to finish I don't think we'll be experiencing another set menu or a mothering Sunday there in a hurry. Will choice an a la carte option on a normal Sunday I think.
