Tucked away in the leafy village of Betchworth, The Arkle Manor is a refurbished gastro pub with a well-sized outdoor dining area. Enjoy modern British cuisine in a rustic environment in the bar & restaurant, which enjoy plenty of natural light, fireplaces & cosy corners for intimate dining.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Arkle Manor menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Arkle Manor bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

Been dining at Arkle Manor for several years, but last night, I felt the food was exceptional. My friend and I both had the pan fried sea bass which was delicious. Another friend had the linguine which was also very tasty.
The chef came to the table to ask us what we thought of the food, he was charming.
The only downside to the meal was the cost of two white wine spritzers that we ordered, we were charged for the most expensive wine on the menu! However, when we pointed this out to our waiter, the price was quickly amended
I will definable return, but keep eye on the bar bill.

A truly awful evening. Clueless staff, children running riot and a foh manager that has zero personality. Then there's the food. Titled as a gastro pub, in price only. £5.95 for 4 slices of bread with herb butter and oil balsamic vinegar. Total rip off! If I'd wanted an evening like that I'd have gone to a Harvester or MacDonalds. I booked this restaurant because it was our anniversary. Made a special request as such and not a word was mentioned by their staff. I use the word staff in the loosest of terms. They ignored us from start to finish. Only speaking to us once they presented us with the bill and just short of standing there with a hand out in the hope of a tip. Truly the worst restaurant and overpriced establishment I ever set foot in..! Avoid at all costs.

Looked after as soon as we arrived. The food was delicious and plenty of it. The negative comments are that the car park is too small. We had booked a table and very lucky to get the only free space. It was also unfortunate that the ladies was out of order, so we had to queue to use the disabled toilet. Other than this we really enjoyed our visit.

Favourite ale (Doombar) on draught. Perfect service , menu and food. It's definitely on our list of local favourite restaurants. The Bury black pudding starter was so good I googled how chef must have poached the egg! Roasted winter veg tart was incredible. Wife loved her "small" option prawn, crab and cherizo linguine. Proper plates too.

Service very slow, food was awful. We also had to ask for the bill three times. Will not return.
