A food and drink utopia, The Anthologist Restaurant in London houses a contemporary British kitchen and delicatessen, a stunning drinks bar, 2 cocktail lounges and a luxurious wine store. All ingredients are sourced from the finest local producers at Borough Market.

A kaleidoscopic menu at The Anthologist ranges from British classic cottage pie, reworked with pancetta and swede mash, to prawn lollipops and katsu fries. Succulent steaks can be upgraded to surf 'n' turf with a half Scottish lobster. A separate breakfast and brunch menu offers a variety of options from around the world with cocktails such as the breakfast martini and variations on the bloody mary.

The Anthologist cocktail bar serves innovative and expertly-mixed cocktails. For those inspired by what they see, there are mixology lessons, as well as butchery and flambé classes. On Thursday and Friday nights, The Anthologist opens the doors to its exclusive roaring 20s-inspired London basement bar, 'The Blind Pig'.

The Anthologist in Bank sits a 3-minute walk from Bank Station.

When I arrived, there was no available staff (or any person that I could recognise as staff considering there seemed to be no uniform and therefore they were indistinguishable from everyone else), no one even so much as looked in my direction. After waiting a while, I decided to find the table that my friend was sitting at myself and after weaving through a heaving unorganised restaurant, I finally found the person I was looking for. We looked at the menus and realised that they had not listed soft drinks anywhere, apart from their most expensive home-made lemonade, of course. We asked the waiter, who did not seem very friendly, where the soft drinks were and he said they were not on the menu. After seeing another customer with a recognised soft drink, we asked him how much it was, to which he replied "£2 something" which I did not think was professional. We asked if we could have more time to decide what to have for our main courses, but regretted asking when we had to wave down anyone who looked like a waiter to take our order because our original waiter took too long to come back. I ordered the thai beef noodles in hoisin sauce, which was average. I do not think it was worth the money I had paid for it, I could have bought something like that from Marks & Spencers for half of the price to be honest. My friend's burger looked nice, but could not tell you what it tasted like. Overall an anti-climatic experience.

Bar was heaving, huge tables in the way - restaurant a lot less busy which was nicer and roomy.
Ale at the bar was unavailable.
Wagyu beef burger not available despite it being an 8pm dinner
Worst of all, the special offer via Bookatable (Lobster, burger and prosecco for £15) was cancelled with no prior notice - no replacement offered. How can I recommend this place when it doesn't honour its own deals and doesnt even have the courtesy to tell you they have pulled it until you have sat down at the table!!
    Waitress very nice though.

Reef, beef & fizz for £15, what's not to like! Went for lunch with 3 girlfiriends and had a lovely time. Good service, buzzy atmosphere, most enjoyable. Lobster was over done but overall food was decent, fizz always helps :-)

Great food and atmosphere. Mediocre service initially but that did improve. Issue with the bill was solved swiftly. Food was good and great value. All in all, I shall return.

We opted for the 2 course £15 menu including a mojito and couldn't fault it for value. The food was of a decent quality and there was no push for us to buy extra.
