Staff very friendly and efficient. Found the seating a little uncomfortable. We were sitting at the end on a bench seat, completely our choice, but I found the bench far too low for the height of the table.

Restaurant was quiet so exceptional service. We were given some beautiful complimentary brioche and sour dough breads and also some other tasters. Four of us dined and all chose different starters which were beautifully presented and a great talking point of all the different tastes that were being experienced. Both our mains and desserts arrived in exactly the same way, presentation great and most of all cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful.

Only thing missing was a bit of atmosphere just because it was so quiet on this particular night.

My guests who do know Bury could not see a sign that said "Angel Hotel".
The greeting was good and prompt
The luncheon menu was interesting, if rather fish based. This did not matter. We ate off the a la carte menu and all were very pleased wh their meal. We difd not have desserts, they were unnecessary because portions of the main course were sufficient and more important interesting.
The Service was excellent - but the restaurant was empty.
A very good meal at a not unresonable price.

Excellent food, excellent service. My wife and I had the Hake (on warm tartare sauce, rock samphire, straw potatoes, confit shallots). We both agreed one of the best fish courses we have had. Complementary bread and hors d'oeuvres are a nice touch. A very pleasant restaurant experience.

pre drinks in the Wingspan bar was a great start sitting under the old vaulted supports enjoying the cocktails and choosing our meal options whilst we relaxed. Met the first of a really friendly team who served us that evening. The food was delicious - every course packed with flavour and beautifully presented. The restaurant is a relaxed place and the smart casual rule fits the ambience. You must try the whipped butter! For starters we chose Smoked mackerel and a garlic veloute both perfect. Mains we chose the same: pork but like you've never seen it presented before - it will amaze you and tastes superb. A gorgeous Sauvignon for the main and a dessert wine to complement the passion fruit meringue went down very well - treat yourself its worth it! Finished with coffee in front of the large open stone fire in the lounge. One of the best meals out we have had anywhere in the world.

The afternoon tea was a little bit different to usual. In addition to finger sandwiches there was a sausage roll and a delicious cheese doughnut. The cakes were small but varied, including a mini pavlova and tiny eclair. The setting was very comfortable with an enormous suede and hide sofa and comfortable chairs. The decoration is contemporary and ethnic. The staff were young, attentive and unobtrusive.
