Sumptuous dishes on the Angel Eaterie menu include Sirloin of Dedham Vale beef with peppered cognac sauce and hand cut chips or fillet of sea bass with tiger prawn and lemon risotto.     The food was fantastic and the table settings looked lovely. However the cake stands that the afternoon was brought in on were disappointing. Plastic florescent cake stands do not go with dainty china

    Excellent food, great service. The room was a touch cavernous, and we were initially worried it might feel too "institutional", but the acoustics were excellent, and the tables well spaced so we still managed to maintain an intimacy in a table of five. Beautifully cooked pigeon and bass. Wine was fine but pricewise perhaps a little high and didn't seem to present as good value as the food.

    Have dined here on other occasions but found this disappointing. Ordered the lunch option. Now only two options for each course - very restricting. My friend found the soup not hot enough and her main course cold. My main course - hake. - was barely cooked - raw in places and hence unappetising. We ordered extra bread which failed to arrive. Service was slow and not obliging.

    We had one dinner and one breakfast, and were extremely satisfied with both meals. The dinner was delicious and just the right amount . We were well impressed and the service was excellent.

    Had a lovely 3 course lunch. The scallop and pig cheek starter was delightful and my wife said the steak was the best she ever had.
