A cosy seaside escape, The Anchor Inn Fore Street offers sea views and locally caught fish. As well as the relaxed dining room, the clifftop terrace allows for al fresco eating and drinking in warmer weather.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, the Anchor Inn menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at The Anchor Inn pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

A charming rural pub, The Anchor Inn Devon is a 5-minute drive from Seaton.

Varied menu catering for all tastes, plus a largely (as you would expect given the location) seafood specials menu. Food was what you would expect from a pub chain, although shocked to learn that the steak came from Uruguay (we asked because some of us are farmers). Think of all those food airmiles. Please could you source locally? At least the UK rather than South America!!!
Good value for money, food came quickly, was hot, well presented and well cooked. Very accommodating when our large party arrived an hour early - driven in by the extremely windy conditions outside. Although the staff were very efficient, they were very serious in their work - a smile makes all the difference to your customers and we were pretty friendly I hope.

This was the worst dining experience we have had for many years, possibly ever. The service was very slow and the roast beef, when it arrived was awful.

The luncheon experience of last Monday: 14 December, was disappointing. I have dined at the anchor before and enjoyed drinks there on many, many ocassions, however, my latest experience fell some way short of what I had expected. Firstly, I was surprised that I was expected to place my order for 4 meals at the cash register rather than at the table - as has been the case in the past. I was also expected to either pay or leave a credit card to secure payment at that time. Having done so I was equally surprised at the length of time we all then had to wait for our meals. Given that the restaurant was far from busy with only 5 other guests we viewed this surprisingly. However, once the meals were served we enjoyed them. Overall, my experience has been marred by the way orders are taken and the time it took for the meals to arrive at our table. Sadly, I shall be cancelling my reservation of lunch on 26 December. I shall be content to continue to patronise the bar area.
