As usual I was warmly greeted by staff and there was a great atmosphere.

There was no pressure to get to our table either.

Service and food was excellent and a great choice too.

This is my second time of visiting the Akeman and will be coming back in the future.

Food good but service very slow - probably due to crowded restaurant.Staff polite, friendly atmosphere.

Have eaten here before with no problems, but very dissappointed this time. Slow service, small portions, and prices have gone up conciderably since last year, 7 pound 50 pence for a glass of wine is over the top, and puddings are too expensive, will not recommend again, and will not come back.

The service and food was the best we have had in awhile? Very accommodating. Will definitely be back.

Long wait to be attended to once we were seated and generally service very slow - there seemed to only one member of staff waiting on tables, even though restaurant was fairly busy, with occasional help from the bar staff. Of all the dishes ordered (6) the pork belly was the most expensive and poorest value. We felt that the portion sizes for this meal - both the meat and vegetables - should have been larger especially when compared with, for example, the fish & chips and chicken dinners. The taste/flavour was good - we just wish there had been more! Three sprigs of broccoli and a "spoonful" of runny mashed potato does not constitute a reasonable portion! Overall slightly disappointed with the evening as it was a Christmas family night out.
