Named after local war hero, George Brydges Rodney, The Admiral Rodney offers typically British pub food from an accomplished menu. Overlooking a sprawling valley, The Admiral Rodney in Loxley enjoys a cosy setting and caters for al fresco dining with its pretty courtyard.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Admiral Rodney menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while the ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Though seemingly detached from the urban sphere, The Admiral Rodney in Sheffield is just a 12-minute drive to the city centre. Perched upon the fringes of the River Loxley, the chocolate-box countryside is just a 3-minute drive away from The Admiral Rodney pub.

booking service was excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient but obviously over-worked. The atmosphere was noisy and busy (perhaps unavoidable on a Saturday night). The food, however, was appalling. The burgers tasted of burnt fat, the steak was tough and the best choice - the lamb shank - was down to its last one - so we had to draw lots for who would get it!!

The food was very good. I threw caution to the wind (and my diet) and had 3 courses - all first rate. Service was also good. One member of the party found a piece of hard plastic in her dessert and the Rodney apologised by not charging the 4 of us for dessert. I thought that was an incredible apology.
They didn't have to do that.

We had a very nice time at the Rodney. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food itself was very nice with a wide variety to choose from. We finished the meal with a drink sat out on the patio which was enjoyable. I would recommend this pub/restaurant and will definitely be going back.
