Great British Sunday lunch with all the trimmings. Good service too. We had 1 vegetarian and 1 vegan which chef kindly accommodated.

all food was delicious and well presented, quite expensive though.

I was cold in the restaurant and wished I'd taken a jumper.

However, all surroundings were very pleasant and felt like a quality experience

A really great and well balanced Christmas Day lunch. We both had the salmon mouse, the incredibly tasty soup, the turkey Ballantine with Goose and all the trimmings followed by Christmas Pudding for me and the Ginger etc. Trifle for my wife. All great, We weren't the only two diners eating by ourselves which was great. There were two other twos either side of us, so we were certainly not "billy no mates". The food was also hot unlike in other places where we have had Christmas lunch. We were well looked after and the truffles with the coffee iced the cake, so to speak. We weren't rushed either which often happens when you are having lunch in sittings, which was not the case here. The lunch was booked in October and something we recommend doing through Thanks to all at the Abbot's Elm
