I had the brie wedge which was delicious also the chicken ham and kale pie also was lovely. Staff very welcoming and service very good.

The restaurant was very busy but I don't think that excused the poor service. We were directed to as table - which we had booked - and after 10minutes someone came to wipe it and then another 10minutes someone came with menus. We then waited again for some time to order drinks and food. The drinks took too long to arrive but the food was very prompt.

The dining experience was fine the waitress was lovely and pleasant, however the Harry Ramsdens fish was certainly not how it's described. The batter was soggy I think that the fish was probably frozen and it had a real fishy smell which fresh fish does not have. Having been a frequent customer of the Edinburgh Harry Ramsdens know what the fish should really be like and this was not it. Very disappointing certainly won't be back for the fish. The only reason I did not say anything at the time is that we were with guests and I did not want to make a fuss in front of them.

Harry Ramsdens was the perfect venue for family to gather and celebrate a birthday. The waitresses gave us excellent service. Quality of food was mixed. Fish and chips were excellent, and very tasty - portions a lot smaller than used to be, but enough. One diner had a salad which was very disappointing, and wasn't freshly made. Another meal served a bit cool, but this was rectified with a smile. Overall i'd go again, especially with the beautiful backdrop of the bridges.

Disappointing! Was really looking forward to the Harry Ramsden's fish and chips. Fish was average and chips were inedible- small, thin, crispy bits which had no potato in the centre. Ordered black coffee which had to be sent back as it was weak and watery. Two more cups were brought which was an improvement but not great. Staff didn't enquire if meal was okay, even when three plates were returned with most of the overly crispy chips left.
