Inside a stunning Tudor-style building set in manicured gardens, Thatcher's Restaurant is a beautiful setting for classic British recipes with international twists. Period features like exposed oak beams and an original fireplace add to the ambience, and make it an atmospheric setting for afternoon teas.
Carefully sourced seasonal ingredients go into the Thatcher's Restaurant menu, creating traditional British recipes. Fresh seafood includes seared sea bass, while the grill selection offers a range of tender steaks, and on Sundays there are roast lunches with all the trimmings. Afternoon teas at Thatcher's Restaurant include delicate yet generously filled finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, as well as other sweet treats.
An extensive international wine list is served at Thatcher's Restaurant East Horsley, and at the adjacent Club Bar, there are local ales on tap, as well as a selection of premium spirits.
Offering a classic setting for refined British dining, Thatcher's Restaurant at Thatcher's Hotel is 7 minutes' drive from Horsley Rail Station.

Good standard. Sea bass was delicious. Starters a little small but very tasty.

On arrival it appeared that they were not expecting us. They certainly didn't refer to any booking list etc. They seemed unsure what it was that we'd booked. However the staff were attentive albeit a bit caught on the hop! The restaurant area was nearly empty, so it was a bit lacking in atmosphere. Mind you it was 3pm on a Sunday and it did afford us a degree of seclusion and intimacy which suited our Valentine's purpose. The afternoon tea was delicious and certainly plentiful. The only weak point was the rather dry scones that accompanied our clotted cream and jam.

We were a party of three and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The portion sizes were big and the food was cooked well and presented nicely. The waitress was friendly and helpful.

Food: not an extensive choice but what was on the menu was very tasty and we'll cook and presented.
Restaurant: mix match of table styles made it feel a bit cluttered. Oldly worldly with wooden beams, quite dark.
Service: excellent, attentive but not over bearing.
Takes 'Taste' card even on a Saturday night.
