Merging authentic Thai cooking with innovative ideas, Thai Elephant serves recipes that have been passed down through the generations. A hand-picked wine list is also available at the first Thai restaurant in Richmond.

Though the Thai Elephant menu changes regularly to accommodate exciting new concoctions, several favourite dishes remain permanent. Erupting with flavour, the tasty volcano chicken consists of a crispy poussin on a spike, with flaming liqueur. A more traditional but still delicious Thai green curry is also served, with either succulent chicken, pork, beef or juicy prawns in coconut milk, crunchy vegetables and a great blend of herbs.

Dessert at Thai Elephant restaurant is appealing, with a seasonal option of sliced sweet mango served on sticky rice, finished with sesame seeds and a coconut milk cream. Thai Elephant in Richmond is housed in a quaint building with flowery hanging baskets outside and elephant statuettes scattered around the dining room.

Close to Richmond Gardens and The Thames, Thai Elephant in London is less than a 10-minute walk from Richmond Rail Station, and a 7-minute walk from Richmond Theatre.

I had a really good experience, which is why I have bothered to do this review. The staff were lovely, unobtrusive however attentive. I had a Groupon Voucher, which was why I went, however I would go again. I went on a Wed evening. I had duck curry, which was fabulous and something I wouldn't cook myself. I have already recommended it to a friend. The 65 bus stops very very close to the restaurant, (on the way to Kingston) which is a plus.
