Didn't dine here - just came for a cup of tea/coffee. Often difficult for a restaurant to find the balance between waitresses being attentive and customers feeling hassled. In this case a certain amount of waving was needed to get a second cup of coffee or the bill. Not really a big deal.

Recommended by The Guardian, Tea Hive is one of the best spots for tea, coffee and cakes in Manchester. As well as speciality brews and gluten-free cake options, there are classic brunches and afternoon teas.

The Tea Hive menu boasts over 20 varieties of loose leaf teas, ranging from classic Earl Grey, through to rose petal, Chinese white teas, and even dedicated decaffeinated and herbal blends. Coffee from independent roasters from around the world is also served. There are hearty brunches with homemade baked beans, sautéed spinach and mushrooms, eggs served every way, and a great sandwich selection.

Afternoon tea at Tea Hive Manchester boasts freshly made scones and jam, with a superb choice of vegan and gluten-free baking throughout. The savoury selection can be catered towards classic flavours, or with more contemporary twists like hummus and Moroccan salsa.

Bursting with homely charm, Tea Hive is 9 minutes' drive from Trafford Park Rail Station.

Very poor - after waiting 40 minutes, we were told our food would be another 10 minutes at least, and we had to leave to get to our destination (Old Trafford). We have been coming to the Tea Hive all season, and decided to book a table to ensure we got in....we won't be back

Disappointing as despite booking afternoon tea for 2 online when we got there we couldn't have afternoon tea as the details of the booking don't appear at the venue, just the time and size of party. Had to order off the regular menu instead. If it had been a special occasion I would have been gutted. Very poor. Restaurant was freezing cold too and toilet even worse.

Quiet for a Monday afternoon. Table had reserved on it and my request for vegetarian option was confirmed back to me. Very good choices and everything was freshly prepared. Attentive staff. Easy to use booking online. Overall lovely afternoon and would return.

The food, drinks and service at Tea Hive is always amazing and it's the place I always take friends when they are visiting. We all had eggs of some sort and a couple of drinks each - the Almond tea and matcha latte always the best.

Nice friendly restaurant but very dry inedible scones !! They did knock money off the bill and gave us some free cake but we were there for a nice cream tea with our visitors from China so it was very disappointing

We eat here often as the food/tea/coffee/cake are awesome, especially Eggs Teahive. Can be very busy so I would book which is easy to do online. Lovely courtyard at the back for a sunny day.
