A truly unique pub set on the platform of Kew Gardens Rail Station, Tap on the Line boasts a stunning interior of Victorian-era railway style. There is a cafe-style outdoor terrace for al fresco drinking and dining, and the pub itself is only a short walk away from the beautiful Kew Gardens.

The Tap on the Line menu showcases seasonal dishes using only the finest produce. Favourites include roast pollock and British shellfish risotto with fine herbs and lemon oil, as well as vegetarian delicacies like chickpea and beetroot bourguignon with courgette noodles and marinated mushrooms. Hearty classic British recipes are also featured such as roast lamb rump, and hanger steak with chips, peppercorn sauce and watercress.

Puddings at The Tap on the Line in Richmond include fig Bakewell tart with Lavertoke vanilla bean ice cream, hot apple and poppy seed strudel, and a selection of British cheeses. A great range of Fuller's ales are on tap, and a full wine list.

Boasting a stunningly preserved historic setting and sun trap al fresco dining, Tap on the Line in London makes for a perfect pitstop for Kew Gardens visitors.

Great lunch mid Kew Gardens visit. 5 minute walk, avoiding the very crowded cafes there. Nice menu - 4 or 5 sandwich options and 1/2 dozen hot dishes for adults, 5 or 6 options for kids. As a note they didn't have any brownies, which was the only dessert choice for the kids menu, and it took some pushing to get an alternative, but they eventually came good. Lovely atmosphere, a pile of board games, great views of the trains but not at all noisy. Would definitely go back - my chicken dish was superb.
