Serving up hearty comfort food in a bustling communal setting, Tandoor Chop House blends the best of British and north Indian dining. Watch chefs in the open kitchen craft delicacies using traditional charcoal-fired tandoor ovens.

Sourcing meats from trusted farmers, baking bread in house each day and crafting sauces from scratch, the Tandoor Chop House menu is a masterclass in authentic Indian-style cooking. Prime meat cuts marinated overnight are cooked in the tandoors and served fresh from the oven, including Amritsari crispy lamb chops, black pepper chicken tikka, and green masala pollock. British-style twists include pale ale-battered squid & prawns, and naan bread with bone marrow.

For dessert at Tandoor Chop House in Covent Garden, experimental flourishes include chai-infused brulee, or coal-roasted pineapple with honey ice cream. Signature gin & tonics head the Chop House drinks list, with locally brewed beers, international wines and spirits also served.

Featuring chic, stripped-back décor offset by a stunning mosaic-tiled floor, find the Tandoor Chop House in London a 3-mintue walk from Charing Cross Tube Station.

This place just isn't up to scratch. I wasv10mins late to the party and my husband and friend who were on find said that they kept looking over constantly trying to pressurise them to order.
When we did order we were bitterly disappointed; the starters were very bland, we had the squid and the onion bhajis which were extremely salty.

We then for mains ordered the two chicken dishes which we ok but nothing to write home about. We also ordered the lamb chops - they arrived raw. I called the waiter over who then took my plate over to the chef. They offered to make me another chop to replace the ONE raw one in my plate but left the rest, the problem I had with this was they just didn't show any remorse or apologise in any way. The dish was still added to our bill, I didn't want to make a fuss so we just paid.

Just to also add the restaurant is pretty small so the table are very close to one another which ruins the atmosphere and environment.
We were majorly disappointed with not only the food but the service also. I say just wait out the queue and go to dishoom instead.

    Amazing food

When we arrived the place was mostly empty. We were given a table for two next to a cramped occupied table, when we could see plenty of other two-person tables with more space around them that were free. The food was fine, but the majority of our choices - lamb chops, black pepper chicken tikka and the cauliflower side - tasted so strongly of barbecue smoke that we didn't notice any other flavours in those dishes. Black daal and beef dripping keema naan were good, onion bhaji rings and chilli cheese naan a bit tasteless. Servers were friendly and attentive. Considering the food, though, I don't think we would return: the menu is short so there's little else different we would want to try, and we don't particularly want to eat the stuff we ordered again given the smokiness.

Food was really nice only the onion rings disappointmented as they where greasy and went quite soggy quickly. The beer is overpriced for a small 330ml can. Service was really good all staff had a smile which made such a difference
