Had no issues with booking table. On arrival little earlier than booking time so staff were just getting set up. Two young ladies who apologised they were new and consequently had trouble dispensing a bottle of coke. Not an issue for me and a friend as it was a girly night for catching up not getting annoyed with staff. Sat down and chose meals having been updated on soup and specials. Then we are we were told my friend's starter not available "antipasti" which seemed a bit strange for an Italian restaurant. She chose again and we had our meal, food good, then we requested a lemonade, again told they had run out, chose again no problem. Then ordered sweets. Food was all good, bit strange on the items they have run out of but good value for money. Restaurant only seemed to have one other diner, but this did not worry us as too busy talking catching up.

From the outset, disappointing. What was supposed to be a treat for myself and my adult granddaughter was marred from the beginning. The menus looked as if they had been printed out five years ago, and had been through a washing machine and spin dryer several times. Please print the new ones on better quality paper and in brighter colours. The ones we had were a symbol of all that was wrong. The dish I ordered for starters I was told after fifteen minutes would not be available "as the chef couldn't get it right from the former chefs recipe" the man at the table next to us had also ordered the same, figs and goats cheese in filo pastry parcel, and after a further fifteen minutes, he was told that "none were available" I was offered any other starter and chose the maze platter, disaster, nice cheeses, limp salad leaves, no dressing, fridge cold dolmades, and ?microwaved kebab stick, dry and totally unappetising. My granddaughter had the tomato soup, not hot, and a curious taste to it, not able to finish it. For main I had a nicoise salad (not spelt right on the washed-up menu) which had no dressing on it, leaves limp again, potatoes not peeled and put hot into the dish, thereby making the salad even limper. Hard boiled egg sliced, but no green beans as promised, essential ingredient for Nicoise. Emily had a Margarita pizza, which was brought out, and taken away again, as she was still struggling with the soup, when it came back, it was very dry, a steak knife was provided, unasked for, but had little effect against the rocky crust; again, not really fine dining with fresh ingredients as the blurb about the restaurant claims. The young woman in charge of the waiting staff told us that a new menu is to start, with the new chefs own recipes, so I cannot condemn the restaurant out of hand, as that would be unfair. I just hope your new chef knows what he/she is doing and will resume higher standards, with truly fresh ingredients, and keep away from the microwave.

Were staying at the hotel but reserved through bookatable at 8.45. Lovely waitress took our order in the bar at 8.45 & we moved to our table when starters ready after 9. We had already ordered a bottled wine. Really enjoyed our starters of goats cheese & fig parcels/whitebait and lovely fish main, served by very friendly waitress. She took our main plates away around 9.50 and came back just after 10 pm to ask if we would like anything else to drink. I asked if we could see the dessert menu and was politely told "no" as the kitchen had been cleared and closed at 9.30 pm. Bearing in mind I could have booked a table up to 9.15, I wonder what would have happened then, would I have had a main course even?! Very disappointed that this very poor service spoiled what was a lovely meal, especially as we then felt we had to go back to our rooms. Also had to point out when our bill arrived that our booking included a 20% discount, which was then taken off the total.
A very strange experience all in all, which unfortunately we remember more than the tasty food.

It was a lovely quiet restaurant more frequented by folk staying in the hotel. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. It has an Italian theme. Service was attentive and helpful without being intrusive.
