A quaint, 17th-century thatched pub on the fringes of Basingstoke, Swan is a cornerstone of the village community. Dine at outdoor tables and take in the postcard-worthy building, covered with climbing plants.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, the Swan Sherborne menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at the Swan Sherborne pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

A cosy, family-friendly pub in the heart of the countryside, The Swan is an 8-minute drive from central Basingstoke.

This is my local pub and I took 5 French friends. we had a great time.
    The staff was really friendly.
I have been coming for 4 years and have seen a huge improvement in the service ( we used to have to wait for so long that I gave up coming for a while)
    The décor is really nice.
I enjoy coming for a drink too with my boyfriend. Love your strong ciders.
Have also enjoyed the band in the past ( shame there is no space for dancing).

Got here & they knew nothing about our booking even though I had a print out of confirmation. Very busy so sat us in the bar & then managed to find a table for us in the restaurant after a short while. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Food & service was good.

We booked since we were a party of 6 aiming for Sunday lunch in early December. Food was varied and excellent. Two had the Aubergine and Beetroot curry and three had the Tom Kerridge beef and ale pie. Both can be highly recommended.

Very nice place for a family gathering; comfy seats with no draughts; good service with no problems; I like Aspalls cider, glad there was a choice. This place caters for those like my husband and son who prefer plain food. Also I prefer to be a little more exotic so chose a chicken curry.
