With exposed wooden beams and crackling open fires, The Swan Bromham is an inviting village pub inside a beautifully preserved Georgian building. Gourmet pub grub is served alongside a selection of cask ales.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, The Swan menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at The Swan pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

Packed with rural British charm, The Swan in Bromham is only a 9-minute drive from Bedford Rail Station.

The service was very slow. We were a table of 8 at 1.30pm on Sunday. There was no salmon and no steaks available and only one roast chicken. The roast dinners were not hot and the yorkshire puddings were tough.

Poor all round yesterday. Much of the menu unavailable. Fish dishes were overcooked and hard.Unfortunately not up to the usual reliable standard

Waitress was very pleasant and service was good at first but she was responsible for a lot of tables and after giving us the dessert menus, forgot to come back for our order. Food was ok but there was t a huge amount of meat in my pie. When paying at the bar my husband was asked how everything was and he mentioned the slow service but there was no apology. It will be a while before we return. The restaurant was a little chilly.

Disappointing..menu recommends steaks medium rare, which was what was ordered..came just a shade under well done! Only 2 pieces of meat in the steak and ale pie, rest was vegetables..service slow.

The pub/restaurant was cold. The food was slow (not service, the kitchen) and when it came the bugger buns were burnt and everything was luke warm. Also, some of the food tasted like it came from a tin - tinned soup used for sauce on 'lemon & chilli pappardelle' and packet custard on the 'apple and blackcurrant crumble'.
