Altogether an experience well beyond our expectations. Service was exceptional and we hope to return with friends again in the very near future

Set in 4 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside, Summer Lodge Hotel Restaurant and Spa in Evershot is an elegant destination for fine dining. Natural light streams in to the refreshing conservatory dining area, with the menu, designed by acclaimed US chef Steven Titman, accompanied for an extensive wine list rated by Wine Spectator as one of the world’s finest.

The Summer Lodge menu makes the most of the south west’s excellent produce, with roast Dorset lamb, Rib of English beef and line-caught sea bass all present. Among the exquisite starters, try the wood pigeon with parsley and lemon gremolata, or Lyme Bay Scallops. For dessert, try English strawberry and Pistachio Mille Feuille or Hot Cointreau Souffle, to name a few.

Sumptuous Sunday lunches at the Summer Lodge restaurant include classic roasts as well as popular signature dishes. Meals especially designed for children make this a good choice for a family-friendly Suncay lunch in London.

The Summer Lodge Restaurant boasts a highly-regarded sommelier hosting regular wine dinners. Summer Lodge Hotel in Evershot is right in the centre of the village, and around 8 miles from Yeovil.

It is always good when the experience is better than you hoped for, which was the case for our dining experience yesterday. The beef cheek was especially good and the cheeseboard is a must for cheeseophiles - a staggering 27 to choose from! So something to suit everyone. The service was excellent and all staff extremely pleasant.

Attentive, but not overly so, staff a big plus
Slight criticism, the mint in the mint sauce with our lamb could have been chopped more finely.

Excellent service from start to finish with such beautifully presented food for our afternoon tea. Amazing selection of cakes and sandwiches and they all tasted great too. All in all, a very special experience.

Very sad to say I was disappointed with the overall experience. Service was slow, there wasn't any tables clean when we arrived and even though I had emailed you twice regarding our dietary needs your waiter didn't seem to be informed and gave us a normal menu (even though we had booked for afternoon tea). The gluten free pastries and scones were very disappointing , the quality was very poor and not up to standard at all. Beautiful surroundings - the garden and the dining room. I have eaten with you before and never had any problems, so unsure what went wrong with your quality of food and service this time.

Very high standards as usual, cheese trolley is by far the best I`ve seen.

We had a truly wonderful evening. The staff were attentive, polite and considerate, the food was delicious, and beautifully presented, and the setting is beautiful.

We had the tasting menu and every course was delicious. My favourite was probably the duck although it really is difficult to call.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to an amazing evening.
