No longer called Suki and no longer any good. Staff extremely rude and slow. Had to cancel our ramen noodles as hadn't arrived 20 minutes after the rest of food. Drinks warm. Food very hit and miss - soft shell crab sushi covered in disgusting cheesy sauce. Such a shame as visited the old Suki quite a few times and loved it.

We were asked if we wanted to have sushi or hotpot and opted for the former. We had reserved a table for 10 but the seating was for 3 separate tables, very crammed and rather claustrophobic, but the main issue we had was that we were seated separately (2 tables of 4 and 1 for 2, so not ideal).

We decided to opt for hot pot instead and were given a table on top floor, which was roomier and sat on 2 long tables of 4 and 6.

We were the only table but service was slow and we had to call the waiter over. He seemed young and inexperienced (maybe he was new). Our table of 4 decided on the hotpot buffet and we ordered accordingly.

Our food came out quickly but one dish was missing and we waited a while before asking about it. When we did, we were told that it wasn't available but was surprised that the waiter didn't mention it when we ordered it or when he brought out the food.

The food was very good, fresh, tasty and plentiful so no fault there.

We ordered another round of the hotpot on the order sheet and handed it to the waiter. We waited and waited so enquired about it and was told it was coming. After another 15 mins we asked again and was given an order sheet as waiter and misplaced or lost the 2nd sheet. Within 5 minutes the second plate of food came out.

The service was not to expectation and he seemed inexperienced. I would come again with a smaller group to see if that made a difference as the surroundings and food were very nice. Waiter wasn't rude but just seemed inexperienced and didn't engage with us.

We all had a fun evening despite this.

Booked the 6-course tasting menu - not exactly authentic but fantastic value with a mix of Japanese, Chinese and Thai at under £20. Thai seafood soup and sashimi were highlights.
