We were not allowed to drink our complimentary bottle of Prosecco with our meal, even though we were told we could on booking in.

We went for the 2 course carvery meal priced at £21.50. I had the buffet starter which had a very wide range of choices and my 2 friends had the two different soups; both of which they said were very good. There was a choice of 4 different meats for the carvery all of which were of a high quality. There was also a good choice of vegetables. I had also asked for a quiet table and we were given an excellent table exactly as I had requested. We would definitely go there again. My only slight criticism was that my cappuccino cost £4.50 which seemed a little pricey.

Good value for money food. The staff were friendly and efficient. However, the decor was so gloomy and uninspiring.

We had a lovely experience at The Strand Carvery. There were four of us, the service was good and with excellent Starters and the Carvery was delicious and fresh. Portions very good with lots of fresh vegetables to choose from.

Been a few times before and will definitely go again, without doubt.

Been several times to the carvery due to its central location and it is always a forgettable experience. Service is perfunctory but efficient enough, the carvery itself is at best average. The meat is ok although the beef can be tough, the big let down is the accompanying food. Very limited choice of a couple of vegetables and time after time they run out of proper roast potatoes and replace with pan fried new potatoes.
Kind of sums up the experience. It'll do but it's never that good. For a truly good carvery go down the road to Reubens at the Palace albeit the hotel is in a different league to this one. And it shows.

In May 2016, great restaurant, great value, great food.
In November 2016, Poor Service from "greeter" not permitting us to sit in restaurant at 4:40 for our 5:00 reservation because they were closed. :Carver" keeping customers waiting until "Greeter" goes into Kitchen to fetch him due to long line up. Either the quality of the beef and chicken, or "Cooker" was disappointing.
