Housed within an elegant Georgian building, Strada - Covent Garden offers a cosy ambience, filled with intimate seating areas. There is popular pavement dining in warmer weather, or the sleek, minimalist setting of the dining room.

Strada Italian restaurants are all about fresh, real Italian food. Made-from-scratch risottos, stone-baked pizzas, artisan ice cream, incredible Italian wines and coffee make up the Strada menu, and all meat and fish is cooked from fresh. A lengthy stock of premium ingredients includes higher welfare, grain-fed beef from Northamptonshire, found in Strada’s juicy taleggio burgers, and on a list of prime steaks.

Free Wi-Fi is offered throughout Strada restaurants, and cosy booths are the perfect setting for a cake-and-espresso pit stop. Not forgetting little foodies, the kids’ menu features miniature versions of delicious Italian classics.

Offering a welcoming retreat from the bustling Piazza in the heart of London, Strada Covent Garden is just 5 minutes’ walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Having visited several Strada restaurants before I was expecting a relaxed ambience, good quality Italian food and decent service, even though this branch is in the tourist section of Covent Garden.
Did this one meet my expectations and previous experience? Well the waiting staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was good; but it was really busy and noisy and cramped and we had to wait an hour to be served. As we were having a quick pre-theatre meal this made the experience quite stressful.
Going back to the food - my partner and I had salmon on brown lentils. the salmon was perfectly cooked and very tasty but I found the brown lentils rather bland - they could have benefited from extra seasoning of some kind. We did not have starters or dessert, which was just as well given how long it took for one course to come!

Overall not the best experience although we enjoyed the glass of wine!!

Good food but slow service. When we asked what the delay was, we were told there was a large party upstairs.

This is the first time I have been to a Strada and also the first experience with my taste card. The staff were amazingly cheerful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, you could not fault it at all.

The bruschetta was great. The Caesar salad and the veal tortolloni were also very good. The staff were lovely and created a very warm, welcoming and fun environment.

The worst mistake I made was to book Strada. Allowing 90 mins to eat before my theatre show started I presumed it would be enough.

Unfortunately after 55 mins I still hasn't been served my starter even though the dish I ordered was delivered to a neighbouring table who arrived 30 mins after me.

Even if we had been served there and then (no sign of anything coming) we then would have had 20 mins to eat 2 courses with no chance to order dessert.

My children were hungry and I had no choice but to walk out of the farce that was happening all around me and get a sandwhich in the street whilst walking to the theatre.

It wasn't just my table that suffered. The table next to me were served their main course whilst they were half way through their starter.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to book here if they have any time constraints.

I was so disappointed as we had been looking forward to our night out for months.

    What a joke.
