Opposite Canterbury Cathedral, Strada Canterbury offers good value Italian cuisine in the heart of the historic city. The restaurant is within a 5-minute walk of numerous attractions including the Marlowe Theatre and the Canterbury Tales Museum.

Strada Italian restaurants are all about fresh, real Italian food. Made-from-scratch risottos, stone-baked pizzas, artisan ice cream, incredible Italian wines and coffee make up the Strada menu, and all meat and fish is cooked from fresh. A lengthy stock of premium ingredients includes higher welfare, grain-fed beef from Northamptonshire, found in Strada’s juicy taleggio burgers, and on a list of prime steaks.

Free Wi-Fi is offered throughout Strada restaurants, and cosy booths are the perfect setting for a cake-and-espresso pit stop. Not forgetting little foodies, the kids’ menu features miniature versions of delicious Italian classics.

Canterbury Strada is a family friendly restaurant and provides a welcome break after a long and tiring day of sightseeing.

Oh dear where do I start. The front desk is in the middle of the restaurant which means the customer has to find a member of staff. BUT the food was awful. I had the ' special ' saltimbocca which was luke warm on arrival at the table and had to be sent away for a reheat. BUT even then the mashed potato was a disgrace the sauce was so non discript that I had to look it up again on the menu and if the meat had seen any format of seasoning, then the chef forgot to shake it.
Then we come to the Pizza, a fiorentina, which came out looking like it had never seen the pizza oven. Not only was it bland in the extreme but I'm afraid a bit of dough that had bearly any sauce then an egg dumped in the middle ( which was the only thing cooked properly ) and some sort of green leaf sprinkled over the top to finish. Brocolli was not cooked properly. This pizza has to be rethought or removed from the menu because it a disgrace to offer this to customers. My friend had a vesuvio pizza which again was not cooked in the pizza oven enough. It came out looking anemic. The topping were ok, needless to say my friend was disappointed. Other than that the waitress was very understanding and took the pizza off the bill. This franchise just seems to have got a bit lazy and just accepts that most customers will just pay the bill and leave. I suggest that the area manager gets off their backside and does their job.

Food was nice but cocktails (on offer) were poor and a very limited choice

Food was good but bland, we understand that it was a very busy day hence service was slow, toilet facilities were dirty

To start with, you have the very best waitress in your Canterbury branch, Dorota. She gets to know the customers, never intrudes, but is there in an instant if needed. Atmosphere is good, as is decor and food is excellent & wine, and service. It is our favourite lunchtime restaurant

My daughter and I took advantage of a 2-for-1 on all courses using a Tastecard but even without it, I would be coming back. Gorgeous pizzas, lovely desserts, nice strong coffee. Admittedly it was quite quiet when we went, but very attentive friendly service. Would definitely recommend!

A group of 6 booked this restaurant to have lunch before attending Priscilla, Queen of the Desert at the Marlowe Theatre. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant until the moment we left the staff were very attentive and could not do enough for us. We all ordered different meals and everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed what we had. The steak I had was one of the best I have ever had. The wine was lovely. I enjoyed eating at this restaurant so much that I will be taking my husband as a treat.
