The flagship restaurant of this celebrated steakhouse empire, Sophie’s Covent Garden presents a supreme range of naturally raised, dry-aged beef: all butchered in house. The partially exposed kitchen gives guests a glimpse of the ever-sizzling grills.

Indulge in a host of juicy cuts from the Sophie’s menu, like a 20oz chateaubriand with hand-cut chips, or the pure-bred Aberdeen Angus roast beef with traditional Sunday trimmings. Alternatives to steak are on offer at Sophie’s restaurant in London, with dishes like pork ribs, or chicken, mushroom and leek pie, and desserts include the chocolate nemesis, and a cheesecake of the day.

Inspired by both the cocktail hangouts of New York and the cafés of Paris, the Sophie’s bar shakes classic cocktails and signature 10oz martinis, and chilled beers and a cherry-picked wine list are also available.

Set just a stone’s throw from the famous piazza, Sophie’s in Covent Garden is just 5 minutes’ walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

As always the steaks were lovely I was however a little disappointed that nothing was done to acknowledge my daughters 21st birthday even though I advised when I booked

Food was lovely, amazing steak. Service was slow to start with, seemed to take a long time for our orders to be taken. Worth the wait though!

My mum and I went there for lunch, as we were going to watch the Lion King Saturday matinee afterwards. It is ideally situated if you are going to watch this show. We had a lovely time there. Our waitress was very pleasant and did not make us feel rushed at all. There is a real sense of space in the restaurant and the tables are not too close together. I had the chicken liver parfait which was delicious, and my mum had the calamari to start. It was delicious but a few of the calamari pieces were a bit tough, she said. We enjoyed our main courses very much. I had the chicken, bacon and avocado salad which was was a generous serving and tasty and my mum had the steak frites which consists of a rump steak and fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and came with a beautiful bearnaise sauce, and the fries were lovely. We indulged in a cocktail too, the Covent Garden which was heavenly. On the pricey side, but considering the lovely location I would say quite competetive. We would definitely return there.
