Using the finest Irish ingredients, Sonoma serves authentic Irish cuisine prepared by an award-winning chef. The bright and colourful dining room showcases sparkling floor-to-ceiling windows with great views of the River Lagan.

The Sonoma menu boasts fresh produce from Northern Ireland that is transformed into traditional dishes like rump of Irish lamb or a tasty pan-fried sea bass. Contemporary alternatives are also available at Sonoma restaurant, with signature dishes including pan-seared, whisky barrel-smoked salmon served with Fermanagh black bacon mash and a Comber beetroot reduction. Gluten free options are also available on request.

An in-house bar offers a wide selection of drinks, while vibrant blue walls with colourful prints enhance the lively atmosphere.

Sonoma at Hilton Hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Belfast Central Rail Station. A 2-minute walk from the centre of town, Sonoma in Belfast is also close to Victoria Square Shopping Centre.

I booked a table online late Saturday night for an early meal on Sunday evening. I imagined that the hotel would be very busy with other people enjoying a meal out before Christmas ...however, that wasnt the case. Upon arrival, the Christmas spirit seemed to have passed by the whole hotel and all was quiet. The decor in the hotel was a disappointment - dark, dreary, lack lustre and almost an after-thought....too much trouble? Having lived and worked in Asia for many years, I was disappointed that the Hilton in Belfast couldn't at least match its counterparts overseas who make a big effort during all of the national holidays...and - even in Muslim and Buddhist countries making an especially big effort at Christmas We learned that the restaurant actually didnt open till 5.30 and were directed to the bar. While the staff were lovely, the bar/cafe area was bare and disappointingly reminiscent of a Premier Inn. The restaurant was bit like the Marie Celeste - quiet and deserted with only one other table occupied. That said, the food was delicious and the service efficient and friendly - the only missing thing there might have been a 'Pre-theater' option. I also noticed that there was a performance of Cinderella at the Waterfront that afternoon...and that only re-inforced my puzzlement that the Hilton was so quiet with potential customers in their hundreds walking past the front door and that there was apparently no effort to attract families before the pantomime and then concert-goers in the evening...both major opportunities lost - especially when people are ready to spend money on a nice family time out. So - in conclusion - your delicious food and lovely staff in the restaurant are your stars! You could do much by looking at the events calendar at the Waterfront and/or the Belfast Steam Train timetable and schedule (and publicise!!) some hotel events around those...with so many people parking practically at your front door...you are seriously losing out.

Absolutely terrible! The service was appalling, went with my 87 year old aunt for a meal before the theatre. 5/6 tables were taken, lots of staff but we were left standing for 5 mins to get our table, when I eventually found someone I was told to wait they would be there shortly. Meal took forever to arrive, very mediocre. Asked for a coffee, twice, that was cold when it eventually arrived 20 mins later. Really a 4 star hotel with IKEA glasses, bent forks, a restaurant set up for breakfast no atmoshere and so badly organised. As I told a member of the public coming out who asked what the restaurant was like - rubbish. I will not be back!!

I love the restaurant but on this occasion I was unable to eat the meat course. I ordered lamb shank and it was really tough and stringy.
JANET THE WAITRESS IS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL

Booking service was efficient. Welcome in Sonoma was v pleasant & all the staff were smiling & very pleasant. The food was excellent & service was prompt. The restaurant was v clean & impressive. Lovely surroundings. Our table was overlooking the Lagan River. I would highly recommend Hilton Sonoma for pre theatre or anytime dinner & we had a great evening in the Waterfront Theatre.
