Dating back to 1986, Sonny’s Kitchen is a quirky and stylish London eatery from 2 Michelin-starred chef Phil Howard. Perfect for a whole range of dining demands, from bright and early brunches to supper clubs and dinner parties, the on-site food store makes it your one-stop-shop for all artisanal goodness.

Using the very best seasonal produce from the finest food producers, the Sonny’s Kitchen menu serves up contemporary British cuisine. Enjoy pan fried calves liver with creamed potato and bacon, or 35-day aged rib eye on the bone, served with fries and smoked bone marrow butter. Rustic plates include foie gras and chicken liver parfait on toasted sourdough, and slow-roasted Isle of White vine tomatoes with pesto on toasted ciabatta. The weekly-changing Sunday roast menu is undoubtedly a highlight.

A cool and contemporary dining space is the setting for these menu delights. With slick polished white tiles, stripped wooden floorboards and artwork adorning the walls, Sonny’s Kitchen restaurant is quirky and upbeat: the perfect venue for relaxed dining.

Rustic British cuisine from a 2-Michelin-starred chef, Sonny’s Kitche in Barnes sits 3minutes’ drive from Barnes and Barnes Bridge train stations.

The food overall (brunch) was generally ok, however the menu didn't say that the full English came with black pudding - this really should be stated on the menu!

We were also sat next to a group with loud and screaming children. Given that the restaurant wasn't busy this isn't really acceptable. Servers should know not to do this.

We chose where to sit, next to the fire, and at the quiet end of the restaurant. We mixed dishes from the prix fixe and a la carte menus with no difficulty. The house champagne was delicious and not expensive. Fish cooked, not overcooked, and came with interesting side dishes (blackened rice with walnuts).Had a chocolate dessert made with dark chocolate, nuts and ice cream which was fabulous. Waiters were charming as was the wine steward.

We ate there on Sunday night . We were however not informed that there is a special Sunday menu comprising only two choices per course which is if course very limiting. Nor were we informed you can bring your own bottle on a Sunday. The dishes were quite small and we objected to bring charged 50p for an additional slice of sourdough bread to accompany the pâté!!! Not convinced we would return in a hurry

Sunday evening special menu was exceedingly good value. First Course and Main Course very tasty but apparently the Custard Tart Dessert was disappointing.
    Good friendly service.
