Steaks were delicious

Poor service. Inadequate drinks. Incomplete drinks order. Food was cold.

We enjoyed the food but the experience was spoiled by poor service. We were 'forgotten' and finally were taken to our table 1/2 hour after our booking time. We had to ask several times for dinner drinks to be brought. We had no water as requested.

The restaurant was almost deserted, leading to a complete lack of atmosphere. Service was dire - there was hardly anyone in the restaurant yet had to wait about 20 mins for our first drinks - seemingly the waiter forgot about us. There was a man playing the piano, but this didn't add anything to the overall ambience of the place - indeed, I would suggest the piano should be'dampened' slightly as it was over powering given how quiet the place was. There's a happy hour for cocktails - which we were informed of when we were leaving at the end of the evening! The young waiter lacked experience, and his dress code was somewhat unkempt. Overall extremely disappointed.

We had a very enjoyable, early evening meal. The food was tasty and good value. The service was speedy and all the staff were polite and helpful, despite being very busy. The background music was excellent. Also, the location is very handy.

Bit disappointed. Food was good, but the service was awful. Staff didn't seem to have any idea about what was going on - was asked what we wanted for dessert before we were served our main course. One waiter, who turned out to be the manager had not heard of the menu we were ordering from. Ordered peanut butter cheesecake, which turned into a vanilla cheesecake, when queried, was told they had run out of the peanut butter cheesecake, but no- one bothered to tell us. Problem with the bill. Had taken advantage of the 2 for 1 happy hour offer at the bar. Bar staff said that they would add this to our food bill. When final bill arrived was told you can't have two offers on the same bill, then was told the cocktails we ordered and served were not part of the happy hour offer. This was rectified, but another example of the total shambles we experienced.

Quiet at 12.30 lunchtime Wedbesday. Taste Card can be used - one between 2 people.
Best food - half chicken.
Pulled pork burger was lukewarm - not pleasant.
Banoffer pie - meagre on banana and toffee but pleasant cream!
