We sat down at approx. 5.30pm so in the middle of the Saturday post/pre theatre dining, hence it was very busy. My only criticism is that the drinks we ordered took longer to be delivered than the food. This resulted in our pre-meal cocktails arriving after the starter - a mohito doesn't taste so good with calamari! I also asked for a glass of red wine with my meal and had practically completed my main course before that arrived. Get the co-ordination right and it's a great venue for a pre/post theatre meal.

We had been to Smollensky's about 2 years ago and it was great, that's why we thought we'd return dispite the mixed reviews. We should have never returned. Three of my friends asked for steak, one of them was cold and he also asked for medium but was rare, so we sent it back. When it came back the meat was charcole on the outside. We all felt we could have cooked a better steak ourselves even we are not chefs. The other steaks did not taste good. I had chicken which was big portion and was ok, but nothing to write home about.
The waiters bought our mains before taking away our plates from starters. We also saw a man left as he seemed to have waited ages to have order taken and must have got fed up waiting. There are definitely better, more value for money restaurants than this. We shall not be returning.

We went for pre theatre dinner... the service was rather slow... our order was taken 15 mins after we sat down, 10 mins later our food arrived but no drinks... the staff were running around like headless chickens, so not really their fault.... felt sorry for them actually as some customers were red to the staff... food was nothing special, TGI equivalent....

Food average, service poor, restaurant cold. Wouldn't use again

Waiter was very friendly but other then that service was slow considering it was not packed. We went for the pre theatre menu and the starters were good but nothing to write home about. Biggest issue came with the steak which was not cooked as requested and was of poor quality.

Don't go here if you want to pre dine before a theatre show. Starter came quickly which looked promising but after an hour still no main course. Our waiter was apologetic but the really need to get their act together. Didn't have time for the rest of the meal so left hungry.
