Great setting, lovely staff, fab food, superb wines but I felt it was a rather pricey wine list.

A celebration of London’s only functioning meat market, Top Floor is found within the Grade II-listed ‘Smiths’ of Smithfield. On the roof of this 4-storey building, the Top Floor offers stunning London panoramas from the sweeping terrace, and from the open-plan dining room with its floor-to-ceiling windows.

Sourcing ingredients from trusted suppliers, the ‘Smiths’ Top Floor menu is headed by supreme rare-breed beef and the freshest line-caught fish. Butchered and cut in house, meats include the trusty rump, fillet and sirloin, along with buy-by-weight pieces designed for sharing. Refined main courses also include poached monkfish with pumpkin, or steak & kidney pudding with braised red cabbage.

The ‘Smiths’ dining room offers a distinct New York feel, with plush booths, vast light-flooding windows, and a pristine white palette. A library of wines at SMITHS in London includes both easy-drinking bottles, and some of the most sought-after vintages available.

Mixing edgy styling with ingredients from some of the UK’s most celebrated suppliers, find ‘Smiths’ of Smithfield just 4 minutes’ walk from Farringdon Station.

Pleasantly surprised by the surroundings. The lower floors of the restaurant have a totally different atmosphere to the very top floor. The views, the service, the ambiance and the food and wine were superb. On the slightly negative side the wine whilst the selection was excellent, was expensive for my budget starting at £32 for a bottle of red. That said we bought a £40 bottle of Rioja to go with the excellent fillet steak that I had. A great place to eat on the veranda in the summer.

We dined here on Sunday 5th Feb, for lunch, with my husband, son and daughter in law . The evening before, without mentioning the celebrity chefs restaurant we dined in, it was with some trepidation that we entered Smiths Top Floor.
We were greeted warmly , shown to a amazing table with a fabulous view of London. We had the roast , the Squid starter was gorgeous. Our daughter in law had the sticky toffee pudding, which we tried , heavenly taste.
The service was impeccable , and we were made to feel very welcome. The red wine and prosecco was very moreish!
We would definitely dine here again, and was a lovely treat for us as a family, we were not made to feel rushed ,and this is appreciated when time spent with son and daughter in law is precious, a very special thank to the head chef and his team, it was good heaven
