Part of a 4-story restaurant and Grade II-listed building beside London’s famous Smithfield Market, ‘Smiths’ of Smithfield Dining Room is a spacious, New York-style diner. High-quality produce from British suppliers is combined with a range of different cooking techniques to create a delicious and diverse menu.

The ‘Smiths’ Dining Room uses a charcoal grill to deliver succulent and flavoursome 21 day dry-aged steaks, which are joined by a spiced lamb burger and BBQ chicken with grilled pumpkin among juicy grill offerings. Wok burners are used for the sizzling ‘lucky squid’ starter with Chinese broccoli, garlic crisp and chilli jam, whilst classic British flavours shine through the smoked haddock with poached egg, spinach and hollandaise, and slow-roast pork belly with mash and green sauce.

Rustic exposed brickwork and giant timber beams add down-town character to the chic, stripped back interior of the ‘Smiths’ Dining Room restaurant in London. ‘Liquid dessert’ cocktail recipes inspired by 'Smiths' favourite desserts are an indulgent way to conclude, and can be followed by a trip to the 1st floor cocktail bar or ground floor bar.

The lively Dining Room at ‘Smiths’ of Smithfield is a 4-minute walk from Farringdon Tube Station.

A fun, buzzy atmosphere. We had the special meal offer and there was a good choice. The starter of beetroot salad with feta cheese was lovely but I was a bit disappointed with my main. I chose a burger and in fact it was very nice, good meat etc. but the chips were horrible - very dry and mine at least were mostly the small ones that get left behind after you've picked out the fat ones! So a promising start but a bit disappointing in the end. However, the service was excellent, very friendly and efficient. I would recommend this restaurant if you are meeting a crowd of friends but it's very noisy so probably not suitable for an intimate, romantic dinner a deux!

Staff extremely helpful and efficient. Ambience not really to our taste. Food great for keen meat eaters - my husband loved his steak. Desserts brilliant.

Great deal! Plenty of really delicious food for the price. The deal mentioned a beer or glass of processo but the waiter didn't really seem to know about this. However we had a glass of wine which was more to our taste for the food.
We had both been regulars here many years ago but for some reason stopped coming (probably due to many more newer, 'tredier' places opening up. But we will definitely be back!

Everything was excellent. Staff were really friendly and happy, the place was buzzing even at 19:00 on a Thursday and the food fantastic! A great night.

Loved the food and the atmosphere, slight shame about the service.

We ordered a main course each with bread and olives to share as a starter. Unfortunately we didn't receive the starter before the main course came to the table. The waiter then asked if we would still like the starter and we said yes. After our mains we still hadn't had our starter and had to remind the waiter once again for the starter.

The waiter did take the starter from the menu which we appreciated.

Overall though we had a good evening!
