Part of a 4-story restaurant and Grade II-listed building beside London’s famous Smithfield Market, ‘Smiths’ of Smithfield Dining Room is a spacious, New York-style diner. High-quality produce from British suppliers is combined with a range of different cooking techniques to create a delicious and diverse menu.

The ‘Smiths’ Dining Room uses a charcoal grill to deliver succulent and flavoursome 21 day dry-aged steaks, which are joined by a spiced lamb burger and BBQ chicken with grilled pumpkin among juicy grill offerings. Wok burners are used for the sizzling ‘lucky squid’ starter with Chinese broccoli, garlic crisp and chilli jam, whilst classic British flavours shine through the smoked haddock with poached egg, spinach and hollandaise, and slow-roast pork belly with mash and green sauce.

Rustic exposed brickwork and giant timber beams add down-town character to the chic, stripped back interior of the ‘Smiths’ Dining Room restaurant in London. ‘Liquid dessert’ cocktail recipes inspired by 'Smiths' favourite desserts are an indulgent way to conclude, and can be followed by a trip to the 1st floor cocktail bar or ground floor bar.

The lively Dining Room at ‘Smiths’ of Smithfield is a 4-minute walk from Farringdon Tube Station.

Had a lovely evening and couldn't fault anything. We went for their set menu which was great value.

Everything was excellent. Staff were really friendly and happy, the place was buzzing even at 19:00 on a Thursday and the food fantastic! A great night.

Loved the food and the atmosphere, slight shame about the service.

We ordered a main course each with bread and olives to share as a starter. Unfortunately we didn't receive the starter before the main course came to the table. The waiter then asked if we would still like the starter and we said yes. After our mains we still hadn't had our starter and had to remind the waiter once again for the starter.

The waiter did take the starter from the menu which we appreciated.

Overall though we had a good evening!

My second visit to Smiths and still very happy with service, food and ambience were good as normal

Food a little pricey for what it was (approx £15 for a relatively small burger & fries) however the service on the whole was good and very quick. Overall great mid-week dinner after work.

We were a party of 6 and overall we had a good meal and evening. We were on a Bookatable special deal with a limited but varied menu. All enjoyed there food although the portion sizes were not huge. The biggest disappointment for some of us was the fishcake and fried egg starter, the fishcake just tasted of potato and was very disappointing although the egg was cooked perfectly and the sauce was good, a great shame. The place was a little noisy for me but I am the wrong side of 40!

I dined here last night and was not impressed with the food. The service, wine and atmosphere was great but the food let the experience down. I've eaten here a few times and it's always been great so maybe this was just a bad night for the chef, or maybe it was because we ate from the set menu.
