Bringing its acclaimed concept to London, Smith & Wollensky is the UK’s first opening for the acclaimed American steakhouse. S&W is housed in the Art Deco Adelphi building just off the Strand, and boasts an on-site butcher and a dry-aging room to the rear of the restaurant.

The signature dish on the Smith & Wollensky menu is the 24oz USDA prime dry-aged rib-eye, with many other cuts of offer. Other popular dishes include the shellfish platter, and herb-crusted yellowfin tuna. Try the apple tarte fine with salted caramel sauce for dessert: all puddings also come with a suggested wine pairing.

Featuring an abundance of leather and wood, S&W’S design conjures the classic American dining room. Spread over 2 floors and boasting 2 glitzy bars, gourmet ‘snacks’ include truffled mac n’ cheese, or oysters and sirloin carpaccio.

Smith & Wollensky in London boasts an array of private dining rooms, an expansive list of reworked cocktails, and daily butcher’s specials. Find it a 3-minute walk from Charing Cross Station.

Superb meal. The steak in the beef wellington was like butter. Friendly efficient staff and premises clean and smart. Be Hungary when attending. Good wine list.

Well what can i say from entering the restaurant to leaving was 1st class the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much hassle.my and my wife both opted for the fillet steak with side order of chips and mushrooms when they arrived there was plenty in each portion that 1 would have been enough between two and the steak was one of the best I have ever tasted I personally could not say anything bad about this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone it isn't the cheapest in town but well worth it.

Arrived at 4.30pm on a Sunday to a practically empty restaurant serving only a very very minimal 'brunch' menu with literally 3-4 meal choices as the beef Wellington had sold out. Had been before and the a la carte menu offered a far more varied and interesting choice. Disappointed we ordered a steak and a burger....both left a lot to be desired. The Wollensky burger was abysmal. The champagne was not chilled. We were served by 4 different waiting staff.

When we asked for the dessert menu we were told by a young waitress that they don't do desserts with the brunch menu. She explained quite extensively how it's quiet at the weekend and they only have a limited brunch menu without starters and desserts.

Paid £125 for the two of us for one main meal each, 2 sides, 2 glasses of Perrier Jouet and a bottle of sparkling water. Completely not worth it.

The worst thing was as we paid the bill my husband asked the waiter why they didn't serve desserts. Surprised the waiter said of course they served desserts. He apologised on behalf of the waitress whom he says should have known better. He offered to get us the menu but as we had already paid we declined.

    Will not be returning.
