Afternoon Tea at Slaley Hall

Slaley, Hexham, NE47 0BX

(((() Afternoon Tea

The staff were very friendly, happily re-sat us next to the window when another table was finished. They were polite and chatty and even gave me a larger cup after realising how quickly I drank the first one.

We went to slaley hall as a late mothers day treat and wasnt really sure what to expect. Slaley hall is an amazing place anyway set in a stunning location. We got offered a table in the window so we could enjoy the lovely views. We then ordered hot drinks (which were unlimited) I stayed safe with the coffee but my sister enjoyed pomegrante tea. We were then offered a selectionof 4 sandwiches, 2 scones and 5 cakes EACH! It was a great dining experience with lovely customer service n fair to say we had to bring some cakes home with us! Highly recommended!

My husband and I treat our dear friend and neighbour for her 90th birthday. We were looked after by Christian who ensured the whole experience was wonder full and he made sure she felt like a Queen we thanked him so much to which he felt very humbled . We have to express our gratitude to Christian for giving us all a most memorable day .

I had reserved a table for four to celebrate my mum's birthday. Unfortunately, we didn't know the hotel wasn't that accessible for my Granddad but he managed. We were sat down very quickly and the waiter was very helpful and explained the Afternoon Tea menu. It did take him awhile to come back and take our order but we didn't mind as we were in no rush and could see he was a bit rushed off his feet. The environment was beautiful and atmosphere was very relaxed.
The Afternoon Tea itself was delicious and there range of food was quite impressive. It was very filling; it took us awhile to feel ready to get up and go!
I paid in secret as a treat for my mum and was worried it was going to cost a bomb considering how nice it was but I think it was reasonably priced for the enjoyable experience!!! Overall, a lovely afternoon with family :)

The sandwiches were ok, scones were very good, there was lots of cakes and the mango tart was deliciously refreshing. Nice relaxed atmosphere and background music.

We were served our afternoon tea in the Dukes Grill, which was beautifully decorated in keeping with the old hall. The view from the restaurant looked out on to one of the two golf courses. We were offered a selection of teas and coffee and a choice of two scones each from a list of five flavours once we sat down. The cake stand arrived with four finger sandwiches each which were delicious. The desserts were a little dissappointing and nothing like the photographs on the website. In every establishment we've been to for afternoon tea we have always been offered extra sandwiches etc. This was not the case at Slaley Hall. The deal we purchased on this site included complimentary 'bubbly' for the same price as the afternoon tea. We mentiond this to the waitress and maitre d, neither of whom brought the drinks. Not being forthright people we let it go. This may be due to a communication/understanding issue in-house of the people waiting on.
