Came here for my birthday dinner & wanted somewhere a bit special with a nice view. The view was fantastic & so was the food, although the portions may look small the quality is excellent & we did not leave feeling unsatisfied. The staff were fantastic & very knowledgeable about the dishes. They were attentive but not too over bearing.

Unfortunate the sour dour toast was burnt to a crisp and part of the mushrooms were dropped on my friends lap. The waiting staff were not able to get the orders right. The potatoes were hard and when complained was told that they were meant to be that way.

I love the Skylon - but sadly the few times I have been the food is not as good as it should be !

I recently went to Home in the National and the food was outstanding and amazing value -- !
I think the skylon needs to up it's food as the view is the best seller and the staff !

We have been eating at Skylon for over a decade and the lunch we had the other day was one of the best. The set menu provided 3 courses of delight to both the palate and the eye. The Quinta Portuguese red went perfectly with both savoury courses and the view of the Thames was great. Thank you for making it such a pleasurable experience.

We had the set menu on a Saturday. I'd booked the restaurant because of its riverside location and wasn't disappointed. The very high ceiling and full length windows towards the river meant that it was a lovely light space to spend time in while watching the hustle and bustle of the South Bank. The service was timely, attentive and friendly without being intrusive. There were 4 choices for each course. We chose rabbit and black pudding terrine and mackerel tartar to start followed by duck breast and sea bass. All were well presented and good but not amazing. We enjoyed our desserts (chocolate and pecan brownie and berry compote and white chocolate mousse) with coffee and beautifully presented petit fours. We felt that we'd had a fair value meal in a lovely location. We'd recommend a visit for the views for nice but not outstanding food.
