Green chilli ramen
23 February 2017
Seamlessly fusing time-honoured recipes with contemporary flair, Shoryu Carnaby Street in London is an elegant and sophisticated Japanese eatery. Situated in the buzzy Kingly Court off London’s Carnaby Street, the restaurant space pays homage to classic Japanese décor with its pared-down sophistication. The dining space is filled with immaculate wooden banqueting tables and innovative lighting for a clean and minimal approach.
Recommended in the 2014 Michelin Guide, the Shoryu menu specialises in hakata tonkotsu ramen, giving diners in London the chance to sample authentic Japanese cuisine. Thin, straight noodles are cooked for 12 hours in seasoned pork stock and seasoned with premier spices and soy from Japan to create fragrant and aromatic dishes. Varieties include BBQ pork with mushrooms and spring onion, and spicy pork and bean broth with sesame and spring onion.
Authentic Japanese cuisine in the heart of London, Shoryu in London’s West End sits 5 minutes’ walk from Oxford Circus Tube Station.

Bun Monday good deal but buns not as good as elsewhere. Ramen excellent and good value. Lots of choice on the menu of ramen, sides and other dishes such as yakitori.

Food was good, variety of authentic dishes, the portions are bigger than the Daddies Bone.

Food was very good but we were a party of 13 and our order came in batches, so some had almost finished their meal before others had even arrived. Orders also kept being forgotten.
When we asked a waitress to follow up where one of our dishes was, she just totally ignored us and started talking about something else.
Really enjoyed the food and we were allowed to stay as long as we liked for our work Christmas party.

great piri piri ramen - perfect flavors. sampler platter was good but wish the spinach gomaee was a larger portion. 3 quid for 1 small mochi ice cream is ridiculous. would come back for the ramen for sure though!
