Passionate about authenticity, Shikumen Ealing serves traditional and skilfully handmade Chinese cuisine. The classic dim sum and timelessly elegant dishes contrast with the sleek modern décor of the restaurant’s dining room.

The Shikumen menu uses the finest ingredients to create age-old dishes as well creative contemporary options. The signature Peking duck is meticulously prepared to an ancient recipe, and served with handmade pancakes and bao, a form of Chinese bun. Beautifully presented, intensely flavoursome mains include stir-fried beef fillet with a merlot and black pepper sauce, baked black cod fillet with Champagne sauce, and the intriguing fried chicken in marmite sauce with honey melon.

Bathed in light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, Shikumen restaurant is modern and refined, with minimalist furnishings and ambient lighting. An array of cocktails and world wines complement this sophisticated atmosphere.

Housed in the chic Xanadu Hotel, Shikumen in West London is a 7-minute walk from Ealing Broadway Train Station.

Although the food was good, and the staff polite, the service was very poor. After I had given the waiter our order he came back to ask for it again, and when the food arrived we were brought things we had not ordered. The dishes also arrived in the wrong order; the main came before the starter and the rice before some of the meat dishes. As the rice became cold I sent it back to be warmed up although I know that's not ideal. When it came back the mains still had not arrived so it got cold again. I was very disappointed.

Excellent and friendly service. Food was also very nice. You can tell the food was carefully prepared and it tasted as good as it looked. Would go again.

Excellent food as always (my third visit here). Staff are friendly and helpful. Quality of dim sum is amazing and the taste is the best I've eaten so far. This restaurant is a gem.

What a nice surprise. Really good authentic dim sum in chic and chilled surroundings. Not often those two go together. Dim sum was some of the most fresh and tasty I have had in London and at a price that won't break the bank. Service with a smile too. An excellent addition to Ealing - don't have to trek to china town anymore. Keep it up!
