Perched upon the fringes of Greater London, Sheesh Mangal serves traditional Turkish cuisine, most of which is cooked in the restaurant’s copper-clad wood-fired oven. Based in Worcester Park, Sheesh Mangal enjoys a theatrical, open-plan kitchen and the talents of an expert head chef.

Fried skewered mussels lead the starters on the Sheesh Mangal menu, marinated in a creamy garlic sauce, while sweet, flaky whole sea bass heads the popular fish dishes. Charcoal-grilled mixed kebabs and sizzling grills lead the main courses, together with a fragrant and tender chicken stew cooked with tomato, onions, garlic, banana pepper and served with rice.

Authentic and decadent Turkish tapestries adorn the walls, along with intricate mosaic-style paintings and gleaming copper pots. In contrast, the furnishing is stark and minimalist, preferring instead to focus on the opulent yet traditional décor.

Worcester Park Rail Station is a 7-minute walk from Sheesh Mangal in Sutton, with Worcester Park Athletic Club just a 6-minute walk away.

Very comfortable setting. Attentive polite and friendly staff. There is no skimping on the portion size or quality of the food, which is served promptly. I have dined here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. I've never bothered writing a review of a restaurant before but feel this establishment deserves it. Enjoy!
